Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
Some songs are just TOO damn long though. For example:
Blue Army Divine Suicide of K Lunatic Princess BORING BORING BORING. I was half asleep during these files. I haven't AAA'd Divine Suicide yet since it's so goddamn long and boring. Once I do, I've no intention of ever playing it again. That's the case with a lot of these new long files; my friends all agree once they've FCed/AAA'd, they will never play it again.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
Doing random reviews of files in 1st round of the tourney, I don't remember my old judgements well so those might be different from them.
FYI those acronyms mean accuracy, technical level, fun factors. [The Rhythm of Life] AC >>>>>>>>>>>>======== TL >>>>>>>>>>========== FF >>>>>>>>>>>========= Vocal based easy file, not many things to say much about this file. 32nds usage and some patterns could be better. [Hyperactivity] AC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>===== TL >>>>>>>>>>>>>======= FF >>>>>>>>>>========== Steps are PR, and technically accurate except for some jump placements, Decent structure for a file with this difficulty. Kinda straight forward and consistent but getting a bit boring due to repetitiveness. [Indulgence] AC >>>>>>>============= TL >>>>>>>>>>>========= FF >>>>>>>>>=========== Some rhythm change patterns are unique for a repetitive song, but misrhythmed parts and inconsistency make it awkward... especially steps for bursts are totally wrong. [I am Maid] AC >>>>>>============== TL >>>>>>>============= FF >>>>>>>>>>>========= Well, basically steps are vocal based and somewhat enjoyable, but a lot of steps for guitars and drums are inconsistent and misrhythmed. [The Lunatic Princess] AC >>>>>>>>>>>>======== TL >>>>>>>>>>>>>>====== FF >>>>>>>>>>>>>======= It has mostly correct layering and consistency. Some 24ths/32nds are missed or unnecessary, and want more style change for the length though. Previous version was more accurate but rejected for being overstepped. As for the song, TLP is my favorite. |

Blue Army's full version being in the game was my resolution a long time ago, although I think I would have rescinded it had I know SO MANY long long files would be in the game.
I'd like to say that Mario Minor is the best new file I've played by quite a bit, REALLY freakin fun to play, props to behanjc for that one

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
It's still better sharpnel song for a marathon one, and had enough quality at that time.

edit: oh snap I feel stupid
I also asked for hyperactivity to be pulled, but you guys ignored that T_T it could really have been better without a final repetition or a third solo Last edited by CosmoVibe; 06-19-2008 at 01:10 AM.. |

It makes a lot of sence, the patterns are fun as hell, the file is a good sharpnel file in general.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
Nice thread idea, JX.
Are the white notes in the last bit of Hero's Theme intentional? The parts where they show up act a lot more like jumps than rolls, especially the last few. Besides that it's a really fun file, even though it's a real pain to PA. GoSW is reeeeeeeeeeally fun. The Divine Suicide of K is fun too, but I agree the ending should be trimmed (well, at least the quickening quarter steps; since they don't fit all that well with the song anyway and the main melody has died away, I don't think it would disturb the flow of the song too much). IIRC, it could be like EW's easier widget version, stopping after the last eighth notes go by.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
I remember a long time ago when I used my old account that they asked people when submitting songs here that they should be around 1:30 to 2:30 or something like that. Maybe asking for this again will help this issue.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
The Divine Suicide of K is a widget song, and it was just brought to the FFR game without any change.
Yeah IDAEL song length is between 1:00 and 2:30, this has never been changed. |

oh wait haha blue army isn't in game yet wow I feel stupid
totally ignore that part in the last post I never typed as far as anyone can tell I must have been thinking of something else personally, I'm quite surprised at gosw's success. I honestly thought it would only be an average file since a few parts felt really awkward to me. especially the end lmao |

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
crappy alias. whatever. funny that he doesn't know that blue army IS in game. it's just a secret song, so you need x amount of credits to play it. 50k or 60k or something.

Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread
Okay, Slight Introduction to this thread so i dont have to answer any more questions like this down the road:
My favorite in-game file that i've played: vROFL My favorite in-game file that i have: Pimp Slap Least favorite (This one was hard): Silence v1. (It's way too overstepped) . Okay, now that that's over, Discussion time: Who is your favorite Stepfile artist? Personally mine is hi19hi19. (We need to get Destiny GAMMA in-game!) |

Emotions that ran through my head upon reading this: Surprise, amusement, confusion, a tiny bit of pride, then pity and sadness.
You don't think the file is just a little overstepped? You know, maybe a couple jumps where they shouldn't be, or a slightly misrepresented rhythm? Something like that? I mean, I'm sure it's clear that I tried to make it as technically accurate, smooth, and fun as possible, but I just can't help but feel like I might have made a couple of small syncing errors or something. Dunno, it's just bugging me. >_>
