Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
So, great news, computer charger probably won't get back in time for the end of the round...
Unless I miraculously AA/AAA on a bulky crap keyboard I'm pretty much done for. lol |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Sigh. My computer is lagging when I play now. Oh well, I'll play it again tomorrow. I officially think I'm safe with 2 goods now, but I really want to snag the AAA on this...

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I think I can't improve anymore. Looks like 11 goods will be my final score for this round : I'm moving in a new home tomorrow so I won't have Internet for quite a few days. So... Novelties, DayMan, Kukulaka, you can ALL beat my score. Just give the file some more time. So yep, I feel that's the end for me. I'm pretty sure 11-0-0-0 isn't good enough at this point. I'm still very proud of where I am right now. I was hoping getting top 20. I'm almost in the finals. Wasn't expecting that at all. Also, I would like to mention some concerns I had during the tournament. I feel some things could have been improved. - Prizes were pretty cool this year. There was a lot of them. The only thing I thought was pretty weird was the distribution for FD/TWWW in some divisions. In D1, nobody gets any token. None. I think the winner should get at least 1. In D4, the first 3 people gets 1 token. In comparison, in D5, you need to rank in top 14. That difference is insane. The first 8 people in D4 should get at least 1 special token. That would make more sense. In D5, only 3 people gets two tokens. In D6, the first 16 gets two. Again, the first 8 people in D5 should get FD and TWWW. - Have guidelines for people that cheats or shares the same IP with another. What happened with soulwar and funnygurl was unintended, but turned out to be unfair. We don't want that to happen next year. Sandbaggers, also, are problematic since we don't have any means to detect them, so we have to rely on confidence. The placements for this year were pretty spot on except for a few people. If we see someone doing way better than anyone else and could compete a division or two above, we should move him up (and PM him of any changes). We should also move people maximum 3 days before the end of the round (so he can have a chance to submit a decent score). Or, he could automatically advance to next round since he'll be in a tougher division. I think also we shouldn't move people after round 3. - What if we use raw score? A change like this won't please everyone but measuring skills with raw score is far more precise than the total score. - Harder songs please. An AAA fest is not fun. The main reason is that people that AAA the first day has nothing to do the whole week. I like a tourney when you have to work every day to improve. The rounds are harder and less boring. - More sponcons? I love sponcons. Overall, I think you guys did an excellent job setting up this tournament. And I think you could make an even better tournament next year with some changes and some adds.

Quote:
The other choice for D6 this round was a 6 minute long file with basically 4 minutes of emptiness and a trollface section at the end. This is what I mean. My files usually aim for more consistency while still having the manageable difficulty spikes. |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
make the troll sections at the beginnings @_@
like gaussian blur 3, the one time I AAA'd the beginning stream, i AAA'd the rest no problem edit: it isn't a troll song, but you guys get my point

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
That's a good example to me, the first part of the chart is quite a deal more difficult than the rest (by that I mean like the entire first half but whatever)

One of those goods was in a garbage spot, shoulda been 1 clean. Sick score nonetheless, AJ.

On the bright side, I'm pretty sure AJ's safely into the finals, congrats!
Also, 4-good cutoff? Y'all are friggin' insane.
