Updated score. I'm assuming you have already retained my Sponcon so I don't need to post that again.

I would have preferred Blue Rose by a massive fucking landslide, I HATE OHT dependent files like this one.

Re: badman7772's Tournament of Hopelessness
This isn't the best run, but I love this one since it just makes for a very good jumpstream practice file, plus it's my highest AAA

Re: badman7772's Tournament of Hopelessness
Todays favorite song goes to.....Heavenly Spores. It was one of the songs that introduced me to chiptunes (blitz lunar in particular). The chart seemed impossible for a long time, and turned out to be one of my first fmo AAA's. Still play the song occasionally. And it's made its way into being one of the alarms on my phone in the morning. Fun chart, fun music, will play again.

Re: badman7772's Tournament of Hopelessness
Round 5
D1: Emotional Adventure D2: Butterflies (Short Edit) D3: Nintendon't D4: Colibri D5: MEPHISTO D6: Sayonara Cosmonaut D7: _.Pulse D8: Mishnu Sponcon I'll say it again. Your favorite songs from the previous round's sponcon were amazing! There was like, only one song that wasn't picked including my pick that was part of my eye-opening soundtrack from my good ol' High School days. I'll definitely say you all nailed it! Now to reward you with a very random Family Guy infomercial...but with a twist. Bacon in a cup, Bacon in a cup, Bacon ehn uh cup! That's right! In this sponcon you're going to play Put-Bacon (in a cup!) Your objective is to to literally have bacon strips land inside the cup (most of the time from the pan) to score a point. There is a very hefty learning curve to this though. Submit a score of 5 points or higher and you'll win 5,000 credits! The top 5 players will each win an additional 15,000 credits for a total of 20,000! Oh and back to the picks. Name the song that wasn't picked by myself and other previous sponcon participants that I would have wanted to see picked. If you guess correctly, you win 20,000 credits! If you guess wrong, you have to wait until 5 different people post their picks in order for you to try again. Failure to follow this rule will DQ you from this sponcon. The hint should already be somewhere here, and don't ask for it. You won't need to post a score on your selection, just post your guess. One last thing. Remember to post OS timestamps and proof of FFR login for the non-FFR sponcon. Haven't counted one without either of of these yet, and it won't start now. This round will end on Friday, September 25th at 11:59 Server Time

Re: badman7772's Tournament of Hopelessness
I unfortunately thought I would have more time for this round, so I did not collect a score for my favorite stepfile. Either way, there are many files that I really like. Of them all, I would have to pick Black as my favorite, primarily for my journey with it. This was one of the first songs that I actually recognized when I started playing almost three years ago. Homestuck might not have been as big a part of my life as other people's, but it was still a lovely webcomic, and this song was iconic. Playing it for the first time terrified me. I thought it was absolutely impossible, something I would never be able to play. Feeling my proficiency with it grow as I got better and better at the game was remarkable. Every time I had played it, it would feel less and less daunting. Now, I have a blackflag on it and am wondering how I ever thought it was impossible. |

Re: badman7772's Tournament of Hopelessness
At least i got the SDG, woop.
Sponcon: I wouldn't say i have an exact favorite (let alone for anything.) but i am a sucker for nostalgic songs, but if i had to pick a song on the spot it would definitely be Starman, not really based on the file itself but the song itself freaking bops for me! As soon as i started playing this song back in 07 and started collecting tokens, i listened to this song and wanted it super badly! Unfortunately at the time it was locked behind one of the hardest requirements which can now be cheesed with offsets but when i unlocked this about in 2010-11, i played this everyday just listening to the bop that is this song. Everytime i play this i always get a wave of nostalgia over me and even goosebumps because it's got that certain charm for it. Bonus points for the unintentional equiv number on this lol and played it 1-handed for the hell of it because that's probably how i would've played this as back in the day.

Sponcon:
I'm guessing the missing song is Beethoven Virus, that's the one that got stuck in my head more than any other during FFR's early days.

Re: badman7772's Tournament of Hopelessness
It's been four days already? Really thought I had more time. These are such short rounds. Not that the late penalty will matter much since I'm so far behind at this point, but I'll definitely submit both rounds in the next couple days.
