Longer than I expected. The fruit scene was incredibly funny to me for some reason... Cliffhanger ending was unexpected and wtf.

Dammit, I hate it when film producers decide to force a trilogy out of a movie that is completely self contained. I went to see this expecting more crazy pirate antics and another clever, complete tale. And while the pirate antics were plenty, the movie was not nearly as clever or complete as the first.

However, the very end almost makes me forgive it, as long as the wait for the third one isn't another three years >_>

On a side note, I also had some problems with the way the film juxtaposed its humorous pirate antics and the scenes of horrible death and torture. They just didn't mix very well.

The next movie releases in less than a year, or at least it's scheduled to. It was more than interesting enough to keep we awake after staying up for 36 or so hours, and I thought it was pretty funny with parts.

Some of the action wasn't very good to me, but the waterwheel section made up for that.

Took a bit for the ending to register, being so sleepy and all, but afterwards I was like, "Dude!"

Yeah...that's it.

Hide the rum. I'm going to watch it this morning, in about an hour or so. So far, from what you all have said. . it sounds a tad bit boring. I'll edit this post later with what I think of the movie, if no one posts after me, that is.

I thought it was really funny, but the plot didn't live up to the first one.

I liked it, but the first one was much better

It didn't feel like a sequel to the first one to me, but I still really liked it.

ps

----------SPOILER WARNING (don't read this if you didn't watch the movie, etc because I don't know how to hide the text)----------------

I noticed how when Barbosa walks down the stairs at the end, he's holding a green apple and eating it instead of a red one like the one he offered Elizabeth in the first movie. Transition from evil to good? Yeah i definitely picked up on that.

It's slated for Memorial Day of next year, I believe. They shot it at the same time as the second, I believe.

I just came back from watching the movie. . . Me and my dad think that Elizabeth is in love with CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow. I think it's a possibility, I mean, with her kissing him (way too passionatley than necessary) and then crying about it near the end. Why should she cry when he was a traitor and all, and lied to her throughout the whole movie? Something's "fishy". I can't wait for the third movie. ^_^

@ jurs:

Wasn't the apple green in the first movie too? o.O

EDIT: Maybe I'm thinking about the one offered to jack.

No it was red.

edit: ps

i'm really jealous of Kiera Knightley because she got to kiss Johnny Depp. Although it's kind of sad that she cheated on Will and he saw it, it was obvious she liked him a lot considering the compass was always pointing to him (because it points to the thing you want the most). Even though she locked him to the ship so the dragon thing could eat him, she obviously regretted it because she was crying about it at the end and wanted to bring him back. I like how she skips from man to man, it's kind of funny. I think the only reason she locked him to the thing was because she knew that going with Will was the right thing to do. I think Will should have said something to her about it.

Will is a pussy. He SHOULD have said something. Jurs, you have a point there . . I also noticed that the compass kept pointing to Jack, so it was like wtf. It's a little hard to follow the plot of the movie, since it was completley different from the first. My brother called Elizabeth a hoe. I think the whole kissing scene sent a shockwave throughout the large population of Johnny Depp fangirls. (Including my mom, how embaressing . .)

Saw the movie last night. It was alright but it wasn't as good as everyone (including myself) thought it was going to be. It was boring in some parts (especially the middle) but it gets better as you go along on a seemingly random plotline.

They didn't "force it". It was already going to be a trilogy since production started on the first movie.

I'm going to see it tuesday (not this, next).

I went to see it last night with my family. BIG MISTAKE, i was the only one who actually wanted to see the movie (my parents and brother are actually insane).
My brother and my dad argued the whole way to the cinema and when we got there it was all booked up and we hadn't pre-booked tickets so we just came home again.

I now have to wait until Wednesday to watch it, but will be worth the wait i hope, only heard good things so far. Plus watching Jonny Depp dressed as a pirate for 2 hours could never be bad.

Uh, great film. Really really really good. Better than the first.

Plot really fell together nicely, the whole thing just flowed really well and it keeps you glued to the screen. Johnny did a great job acting, and the comedy was also quite good.

The overall feel of the movie was just...better, and kickass. There were so many awesome and creepy little details, yet they still kept it really fun and interesting.

Nothing else to say really, except that I hope the third one really wraps this up as one awesome trilogy.
