The first two series of Slayers in Japanese are good. The English voice acting hurts my ears, and the third series is kind of wierd... but besides that.

Wow, I saw Read or Die a while ago, and I THOUGHT it was a show...

Until it kept going, so I thought it was a movie. And now I find out it's a show. I liked it- not too bad. But yeah, I wondered why it was kind of episodic...

And I haven't seen too much anime, due to the fact that I'm not allowed to stay up late without having to work on homework :P, so I can't usually watch Adult Swim. However, I am starting to become a fan of Rurouni Kenshin and Ghost in the Shell SAC. I also did like Cardcaptor Sakura.

You all fail. Miserably. Okay, not miserably, but badly.

BIG O!

That and Outlaw Star.
Oh, and the first anime I ever saw: Project A-KO.

I believe I will make a "post what you've seen" thread due to the successes of this thread.

Maybe later. Busy schedule today.

~Squeek

PS - I might add Stellvia to my list if it turns out alright. I'm now halfway through and I love it primarily due to the fact that it reminds me of Ender's Game.

Let's see...soon the angst and whining starts. I hope you get through that alright.

Anyway, my favorite anime of all time is Alien Nine (both the anime and manga combined). After that, in no particular order:

Figure 17
Magical Project S
Mahoromatic
Jubei-chan season 1+2
Elfen Lied
Mai-HiME (although only half the series is out, so this may change)
Fruits Basket

Angelic Layer gets an honorable mention for it's mind-shatteringly good fights, as do Battle Atheletes Victory, Galaxy Angel, and Pita Ten for Akari, Milfeulle and Misha respectively.

It's surprising to see how many people are strictly mainstream / dubs only.

I would be too had it not been for Kefit, of course.

My only exposure to anime is really through Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. I have seen very little outside of AS, like AKIRA and Spirited Away (both were great, but I only saw them because of Japanese class). I'd love to see more, but downloading is both illegal, and very time consuming. I spent about a month downloading just the six episodes of FLCL, and I've decided to never do that again, unless I have a very good reason (ie an anime which is awesome, easily accessible, and not too long).

Actaully, technically it is. Anime is just the Japanese word for cartoon, derived from Animation. Though, it does not come from Japan, thus is not considered an "Anime" by the american term.

Now for my list:

Neon Genesis Evangelion
FLCL
RahXephon
Cowboy Bebop

Those are the only ones worth mentioning.
Qouted for emphasis but I have some more to add.

Love Hina
Maze
Samurai Champloon
Onegai Sensei and Twins
Tenchi Muyo: The Movie/ Tenchi In Love 2
Voices of A Distant Star
Dead Leaves
Ah! My Goddess: The Movie
Princess Nine
Saiyuki
Princess Mononoke
Golden Boy
Peace Maker
Trigun
Perfect Blue
Patlabor WWXI
Blue Gender
Ronin Warriors
G Gundam(the only good Gundam anime)
Robotech
Macross
Fist of The North Star
Steel Angel Kurumi
Ranma 1/2
Hellsing
Devil Lady
etc...

As you can see there are some in that list that are mainstream and some of them people have never heard.

Dragonball Z/GT
Read or Die

Gundam Seed
Trigun
Inuyasha
Yu-Yu Hakasho
Ruroni Kenshin

Outlaw Star

This might be it, I'm trying to think of others that I saw and liked.

Dammit! I forgot Perfect Blue! I really liked the first volume of FotNS, too, but I didn't put it since I haven't seen any more of it.

Oh, and Kyatto Ninden Teyande (Samurai Pizza Cats in America) > all.
