The Best Game of Halo Played.

Halo 2 rocks. and i've only played it once. i played the original halo at a friends house (he let me do a few levels and NOW I WANT MY OWN XBOX WITH HALO!!!) and basically got me addicted. If you haven't played the game, don't say it sucks. You don't have any right to say that. once you've played it at least once (and i mean not just turning the machine on then off) then say something. AND PLAY FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR!!! no bull plop of only playing until you die. actually TRY to enjoy the game. don't be a moron and hate it just because there's no new game play. look at mario, sonic, and heck i'll even go out on a limb here and say pong!!!! none of them ever came up with new game play engines when they were big and yet, each sequel was just as popular as the first. all were just as fun. they just had stuff ADDED TO THEM!!! that's the problem with most sequels today. they try and do new game engines and that normally kills the franchise. look at what happened with FFX-2 and FFXI. they tried new engines and didn't work. AND I LOVE FINAL FANTASY!!!! just final fantasy was MEANT to be linear. Just like halo was meant to be an FPS. if it went to say a more final fantasy style battle, would it be any better. odds are no. like the old sayin goes, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it."

Halo sucks. Halo 2 sucks. No, I'm not basing this opinion on ranking or fanbased support. It really does suck.

First of all, when you make a game, you should consider making it WORK on the console you're releasing it on. Meaning, I shouldn't be seeing non-loading textures every 2 minutes!

Second, when you're dual-weilding, why is it that you drop the other gun when you swing one? Can you not move your right arm without dropping a gun in the left?

Third, nice storyline folks. Hey, I'm Master Chief. I'm going to be the person you play as for a while. Oh no, climactic event, and now you're the Arbiter! Wait, what? Umm....

Now, I really don't want to hear "SKQQE U DINT PALY IT @ ALL! U PROLY PLAYD 4 LIEK 5MINTES OR SUMFIN LOL". I played the first Halo all the way through and got through several chapters of the second one.

Also, noob poster above me? Yea, please tell me you're joking. What HASN'T been new and innovative with all the sequel games? Super Metriod -> Metroid Prime? They're totally the same, right? How about Super Mario World -> Super Mario 64 -> Super Mario Sunshine? Or include Paper Mario in that? And, you know, there's nothing new from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 -> Sonic Adventure -> Sonic Heroes.

Final Fantasy hasn't been getting better since its NES / SNES days.

Uh, you played a messed up copy of the game. That doesn't happen in my friend's copy of the game. The graphics flow with no ghosting or loading of any sort.

sorry...the only time I've seen this happen is when I'm losing connection to xbox live. Graphics flow perfectly for me.

The texture loading problems are only for Halo 2, and it does happen for pretty much everyone, though I only noticed it about two or three times in my game.

The storyline for Halo 2 was pretty weak, though not confusing or off-the-wall as Squeek plays it out to be.

As for it being like an expansion for Halo 1, yeah, it pretty much was due to the lack of anything huge being added. But nobody wanted revolutionary design; we wanted an upgraded Halo 1, and that's what we got. If there had been an engine overhaul, that would have pissed off far too many fans.

Do Halo 2's problems make it a bad game? No.

Regarding the gaming mags' reviews of it, the ratings are often judged relative to other games. I know EGM's 1-10 system has average games at a five. So when you compare Halo 2 to all the other games that come out, it most definitely deserves a high ranking for being as high quality as it is. Did Halo 1 deserve a platinum award (three tens)? Yes. Does Halo 2? No. A gold award (average score >=9.0)? Yes.

And about the mags rating it high so that their subscribers wouldn't cancel, that's complete and utter bullshit. When one of the reviewers gave PSO a four or a six, I didn't throw the magazine to the ground, piss on it, then go cancel my subscription. People read gaming mags for gaming news and reviews. If some person doesn't like a game, well, that's one person's opinion. Honestly, though, who goes to a game review website to be entertained? I expect reviews to be informative, not entertaining (save Seanbaby, but that's a different matter). I'm dumbfounded that you would let yourself be taken in by such bad logic, Anti.

Plus, gaming mags review games before they even come out.

Halo 2 was overhyped pre-release. That's muchmuchmuch worse than being hyped post-release (a la Halo 1), because post-release hype comes about from people realizing what a fantastic game it is.

And emccky, GC may take XBOX in the individual games, but it doesn't even have online play, and that's ultra-weak sauce.

On topic: How did you get that screen, 87x? Also, I got a "meh" reaction solely because you can get an unlimited amount of medals on a ctf game because there's no time limit.

How did you get that screen, 87x?

If you log into bungie.net, you have access to statistics of EVERY game you have ever played.
If you log into bungie.net with your NET passport, you get (fixed) screens of certain locations. It shows who you killed, where you killed them from, and with what weapon.

The stats are usually uploaded within minutes of completing a game.
