Re: Quitting my job today
shoppers got bought by loblaws, does that have anything to do with their policy changes?
otherwise unless it's something you heavily rely on I wouldn't consider it a huge loss. just find something better; it exists.

Re: Quitting my job today
Especially if you were working for minimum/low wages, there is definitely something out there with better job conditions at equal or better pay out there for you.

Re: Quitting my job today
If a workplace employs people full-time vs part-time they pay more money via benefits and such.

Re: Quitting my job today
As someone who just recently used to work at Shoppers, I wasn't aware of any changes. The most that the merge entailed was a small piece of paper pinned to a wall in my lunch room giving some brief info about Loblaws.

Re: Quitting my job today
Man and I thought I had it bad the past three months. They've been expecting us to do a job that requires 8 - 10 people with only 2 - 4. It's been super silly. Most of the management at my store didn't know my name till about two weeks into this slump we've had. (I'd been working there for six months or so at the time. I curse my coworker for ever telling them my name.)
Welcome to walmart though. |

Re: Quitting my job today
If choosing between McDonalds and Walmart, would definitely go Walmart.
But McDonalds holds a special place, because I go there constantly because it's so cheap. |

Re: Quitting my job today
I've worked Guest Services for a tour company, housekeeping for a hotel, as a carpenter's assistant, and at McDonalds as crew and then manager.
Gotta say though the most enjoyable job I've had was by far while I worked at McDonalds, minus the pay. If I hadn't moved and could get more money I'd have stayed. The people I worked with were supportive and fun, and it was always a hell of a time.

Re: Quitting my job today
This is pretty much what my brother said after his first day working on my shift with me.
(He worked at Mc Shitters and I/few others helped get him hired on my shift.) Not a glorious job, but I'm still far away from people, so as much as I hate it sometimes, it really isn't a bad fit for me environment wise. |
