Jeez, I'm really really rusty. I'm having trouble AAAing Lightning Strikes Back, haha.

New Fluttershy took me three tries, all at the end jumpstream (which is a bad thing because I typically destroy any kinds of jumpstream at this speed, lol).

I'm either horrible now or Mario Mix For Piano should be a bit higher in difficulty?

lol my bad...I had Ehhen as a 78 in my notes at first but bumped it down two points because I thought it was only 180bpm (closer to Mahou no Oshigoto)....apparently it was 200bpm-ish all along ~_~

(I was playing SM earlier! SM makes everything on Fiffer seem way slower, don't h8)

Calling: Enjoyed it; solid song choice and bmah file holla!

Mario Mix for Piano: Another piano song MN? Doesn't matter though because it was still enjoyable but those 32nds muahaha...

Outer Space: By far best song choice/file of the week but those grace notes oh my Satan.

Fluttershy: Pretty basic file... did not like. The song choice sucked too.

Lightning Strikes: The intro gave the rest of the file promise but I almost fell asleep at how absolutely boring those following 3000 notes were. Solidly stepped but I still hated it.

Ehhen: Horridly overstepped mosaic.wav puke yet that's what saves this file for me because I love smashing my keyboard to the sounds of screaming Asian women and imagining it's me thrashing their head into a juicer. Also underrated.

Actually Rob you said the hardest files were 72/75/76 and I joked about them being 70/73/79 without playing them but I think I was actually right. O_O Except Lightning Strikes might only be 75 because of length (otherwise it's fucking simple).

Sorry for the offensive message. I was referring the "horrendous steps" comment to the J-pop song and generally many newer FMO+ files minus the pony song, which was stepped well.

Sorry... a lot lately, I felt like I'm being spoon-fed ponies every time I go on FFR. I respect the fact that you have an interest in ponies, but the fact that it is taking over a public engine makes the game less enjoyable for me. Just because I say something doesn't mean I'm right. I am only stating my opinion. Clearly more people will hate me since many of you love ponies. Am I forced to enjoy ponies? Of course not. Do I feel like it when I come to FFR and play files just to enjoy the music and games? Of course I do. Feel free to dislike me based on my opinion.

Oh rip. Just trying to help a rising artist get more acknowledgement for original music. Guess I can't do that either. If it makes you feel better, I haven't stepped a Lindsey Stirling song since Shadows which was a long time ago.

I definitely agree with the 79, haha.

70 for New Fluttershy is a bit low for a long constant 220(?) BPM jumpstream that lasts as long as that; it also has high potential for pattern splitting due to a few UL/DR jumps, haha. I think 72 is fine for that file personally.

The S.S.H. file seemed really easy for a 75, but I tanked during the 24ths multiple times in the middle of the song, so I don't know if it gets any harder than that, lol.

The opinion isn't really the problem. It's moreso the way it came across; that's all. I'm pretty sure that megamon of all people knows that not everyone likes the pony fandom (I mean, he IS AssertiveFluttershy, after all ). It's just a matter of disliking it and saying that you don't like it while not being rude about it.

The way that you said it was pretty harsh, but I understand where you're coming from. You could really make the same argument for any other kind of music though - there are so many idm/breakcore tracks in-game (much more than pony), so I could easily say that I'm forced to like it. The fact is, though, that if you don't like it, you can just ignore it. Don't like ponies? Then don't play pony files, simple as that.

Also, in regards to your other point:

I'm also trying to help rising artists get exposure for their music. Most of them happen to make pony music, but a lot of them also make non-pony stuff too, which I also step. There seems to be a sort of double standard going on here.

Well I was thinking of the Destination Renard song which had a fast BPM but was rated pretty high yet got conquered by the tournament players (and most people in general). To go with my joking to Rob, 70 would be reasonable -- though I agree that it might be better as a 71 or staying at 72.

As for the SSH file, I only reached those 24ths once and blasted through them like they weren't even there. I was actually expecting more after that point, but aside from some 16ths that felt awkward and the 32nd "grace" notes, there was nothing more difficult. Thus I found it a lot easier than a 75.

Hell, think of some easier songs with similar-style 24ths (Distorted God at 71 comes to mind). Sure, the SSH file is faster, but there are many more 24ths with perhaps (opinion, but I suspect the general consensus would agree) more awkward patterns in DG. Anyhow, I imagine the 24ths in Lightning Strikes could be effectively AAAd by jump-cheating... and so aside from factoring in length (which I personally don't think should affect a file's difficulty rating very much unless it's constant stamina-draining handstream, which this is not), I could very easily consider Lightning Strikes much lower than a 75.

Sorry, it was blunt indeed. I suppose that's true but it's unfortunate how I should ignore some files simply based on music selection. I guess it is what it is.

True. Even though Lindsey is shooting for national attention, I guess it goes the same way on different perspectives.

length + gay spikes (24ths etc.) + awkward-somewhat-dense-at-times 210?bpm jumpstream towards the end of the file = my logic for 75 on the S.S.H. file...it could also work as a 74 I suppose but I wouldn't put it any lower than that given the sheer length of the file plus that speedy jumpstream

Ehhen feels more like an 81/82 to me. Those ridiculous jack transitions and dense second half is extremely demanding in skill and stamina. Even feels harder than Sleepmix Strikes Back.

EDIT: I don't find it even close to Ketsarku, Holy Orders, gunk, tageri and other 80's.

Someone make a thread for Ehhen and we can ram a difficulty out for that in there...I was going to tell beamer (benz 'n bentley) or jx to kick it back to 78, but if you guys want 79 (or higher?) we'll talk it out in there (inlove)

Calling - song was pretty nice, easy chart, not much to say. Didnt expect those 32nds, threw me off for a sec. lol.

Lightning Strikes Again - Metal Squad - Wasnt too excited about the song before playing just because we get yet more SSH music, the intro sounded pretty cool though. Chart was pretty fun for a 5 min song, some parts felt awkward, but not that bad.

Mario Mix For Piano - Im usually excited when seeing piano songs being released, but wasnt too fond of this one. Chart was eh, things like those 32nd gallops were an ass.

New Fluttershy (MONSTER MIX) - fuck ponies

Outer Space - Ronald Jenkees songs are always interesting to listen to, chart was pretty fun, tricky at times, but a good play.

Ehhen Doyadosu? Tengujiman - ah, good ol MOSAIC.WAV, not a fan of the song based on personal taste in music, chart wasnt that bad, nice challenging chart for 1:45.

One hand gallop usage going into minijacks and jumps like that is indeed awkward. You're not the only one.
