i'm in second with 8-0-0-1 after playing the file god knows how many times; I have no idea why this file's so much harder than last round when it's only a point of difficulty higher :< |

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 6!
maybe it's just me but 44 edit feels wrong at certain parts like easy patterns were thrown in immediately after hard patterns just for the sake of creating awkwardness
i liked m140's version better

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 6!
I didn't want to make the file brutal throughout because it would play way too rigidly if I did that. CG is a good example of what I wanted to avoid (all [13][24] trills).
EDIT: Not saying CG is a bad file.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 6!
Keep getting a good in that BEER-like pattern around 1700 but otherwise I'd probably have the AAA by now (keep fucking up easy shit otherwise/getting boos everywhere woo~).
Damn this file is fun. Edit: LOL GET WRECKED peace First again! *_* Last edited by smartdude1212; 03-1-2013 at 05:30 PM.. |

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 6!
The two components of this file that are tough to handle are the polyrhythm balance between 12th note jacks and 16th note patterns, and the really fast one-handed patterns that strain your hands in the middle of speedy streams are brutal -- mirror will prove to be ineffective if you're not strong at both of those things, because if you mirror for the streams, the polyrhythms all end up on an unfavorable side, and if you mirror for the polys, the streams end up on the hand that you don't want.
I have to mirror Ordeal to make all of the polyrhythm jacks left-handed, but I hate trying to contend with right-handed minitrills... I'd much rather have them on the left hand, haha. EDIT: YO nice AAA Last edited by TC_Halogen; 03-1-2013 at 05:38 PM.. |

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament - Round 6!
THANKS Completely agree though, the polyrhythms make this file so much more difficult just because the patterns aren't the most forgiving. I do love the sound of 24th bursts followed by short 16ths followed by more 24ths, etc... it's music to my ears.
This file doesn't feel quite like an 88 though... but it's long and I can see endurance playing a factor. The end is tough to AAA if you're shaking really bad though because you'll feel like you're hitting those jacks but really your fingers are vibrating seven inches above the keyboard. |
