Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I see that there are lots of posts regarding lag issues, and I'm having the same trouble myself (I typically play on the Velocity engine in Flash 9, and it's input lag that's the problem).
I was just wondering, is it immediately obvious for everyone when they start playing that the lag is present? For me, it's subtle - I'll get random goods here and there. It's so subtle, in fact, that I thought I was just getting worse at the game (I can't play my song and get a SDG anymore). I tried it out on other, easier songs, and I'll have the same issue where a note here and there will sometimes be hit a frame or two later than when I press the key. I tried playing on the R^2 engine as well, and I get similar issues (though I'm not sure if that's input lag or me just not being used to the engine). For those who've had these problems in the past, does it usually clear up by the end of the round? If not, I hope my 4-0-0-0 from one of my first plays is sufficient to get me through! Thanks! |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
FFR is loading slowly for me, and half the time the page doesn't even fully load. When trying to load FFR on my ipod touch, a half-loaded page often ends up with the message "the page cannot be loaded because the server stopped responding".

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
that just happened to me when I was on my Ipod earlier, and the flash flash revolution in the top left doesn't show up all of the time for me.
Also, 100 plays on Press Start and I can get is 6 goods, really really hope 6 goods will get me through. |

Yeah the last 2 days I can only get a thread to load 1 in every 10 refreshes. (And yes my net is fine else wise).

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Managed to legacy engine my way into AAAing this round (thankfully this file was consistent more than spiky). Going to making isolations of files now.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
I've been fooling around a bit with Flash 11 too, and it gives me both input and scroll lag in the Velocity engine. It seems that the Legacy engine works the best, though input lag problems still seem to be present, albeit less so. Much like the R^2 engine though, I'm not used to it, so perhaps some of my problems arise from that as well. I suppose I'll keep trying periodically as the week goes by.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Alright, did the isolations.
Isolation Engine Links: http://etylukah.zxq.net/hakulyte_Engine.swf <-- Velocity http://etylukah.zxq.net/ffrndanotherway_1130.swf <-- Legacy Genre 1: - Press Start Messy Staircase (D5 file) - Press Start "3 Column Wall" 1 (D5 file) - Press Start "3 Column Wall" 2 (D5 file) - Press Start Big Transition Wall (D5 file) - The Replicator "350 combo" 24ths (D4 file) Genre 4: - [Tips] The Replicator 24th bursts (D4 file) Comments from me: - For D5, the 48th staircase has a 64th burst right after. The last two notes of it are a zeroframe interval (that is, it is a jump). - For D5, the "3 Column Walls" are faster than the big colored rolls. The big transition wall is actually pretty slow if you're hitting it as jumps, it just has very weird timing.

Okay wtf I can AAA the hard stuff in the isolation file but can't while playing the reg file. That sucks XD. Also just got a new computer tonight, lets see how this goes.

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Finally, I now I don't need to go halfway anymore into the song. But I think it'll be better practiced with the beats, lol.
Thanks Dossar! |

Re: 7th Official FFR Tournament
Yeah, unfortunately my isolations don't have music, but they're the exact frame placements as the ones ingame.
