The way I see it, for FFR purposes, AAA is the highest possible score on a song. Just getting rank 1 doesn't make it AAA; the reason a rank 1 score is counted as AAA, I think, dates back to the avmiss era - AAA wasn't PFC on every song, so it was far easier to just count all rank 1 scores as AAA than to figure out the best possible score for each song and set them all individually. (That was probably back before the game recorded PGAMBC statistics, too.) This should be treated as a bug, though, since rank 1 doesn't always mean the best possible score anymore.

i think this is what gets players to be more devoted into achieving such high scores. giving someone such an achievement would give them a reason to be called ''good'' or ''godly'' in this case.

most people only get so good then leave the site because they think there's nothing else to achieve in the game, but having things like a skill token and other parts on this site is what keeps it running so im completely 100% agreeing with this idea :P

There's absolutely no need for 3 files of this song in-game, step something else.

I like how tons of people complained about RATO when it was put in game, but now a file supposedly around the same difficulty or even harder is being talked about here, and everyone's loving the idea !_!

I do want a skill token that's hard to get, but I would greatly prefer I don't struggle to unlock some insanely hard token that you really only want to unlock for bragging rights because the file itself is dumb (sup vrofl). I wouldn't even classify NVLM's Earth Quake as a dumb file, it's at least fun to play.

So yeah, I support as long as the file isn't retarded, and preferably not Otaku, but that I can tolerate.

ps, should name it [Another] rather than [Edit] hehe

How about someone just step something new, like Carlos proposed (A Quick Death).. There are millions of songs that can be hard files and simply playable ones..

I agree 100% with Tera, no need for 3 versions of one song.

As for the thread, there needs to be some Guru tokens (BF KM to get this, AAA an FGO and get that etc etc..) Some **** to keep the experts playing, and to separate the experts from the losers who mash FC songs and look good.

The reason is that RATO was going to be a public song. Because of FFR's combo scoring, songs that difficult basically become "how much combo can you mash" contests for all but the few people who can actually PA it while FCing. I don't really want not-fun mashfiles to affect my average rank; maybe that's because I'm really slow at mashing. But if the song is going to be not public, that won't happen (nobody cares about token average rank) and so your rank on the song wouldn't really affect anything else. If a difficult song exists just for its own sake that's fine, because there's no penalty for being bad at it, just a reward for being good. I have problems when I'm forced to play a mashing file over and over again just to prevent it from ruining my average rank. Then it's not fun to have the song in the game, just annoying.
