It looks like one of: a style the Acquisitioner will never imitate, one they will abandon quickly if they are the Acquisitioner, or a play aimed at making sure the Acquisitioner can't infiltrate the wolves using IBM as a vector. I'm favoring the latter two interpretations.
Obviously it's annoying, but voting people who are annoying is not the point of the game, even if their posts have to be run through a lowercase generator or something. I think you going out of the way to explain this is very good, though.

The bit about the Acquisitioner is a very interesting point and one I hadn't thought of. There's also the fourth interpretation that they are the Acquisitioner themselves, unless that's what you meant by the second suggestion. I think drawing attention to themselves that way would be a net negative though. By the same logic as your third suggestion, a village-aligned CEO should not want to be Acquired, though, since their acquisition would be bad for the village and would also be an acquisition that doesn't happen to the wolves.

Admittedly I have to wonder if it is average to have thought out the use of the role like this, and it could be something IBM has done to be silly and isn't alignment indicative. However in the reply preview they are still doubling down on it despite this being raised and complained about by half the game.

I like the thought process going on there anyway and don't have any objections, except the bit that could be begging the question.

When I was last in the thread everything was roleplay and I didn't have a tremendous amount of time, so sorry in advance if I post too much as I catch up over the next few hours.

Don't worry about posting too much, as long as your longer posts don't have stuff in them that's already been talked about multiple times to look like you're engaging like your last post.

I was about six pages behind and replied to the post that replied to me. After that, I went through each page and looked for something I might specifically want to make a post. That is always how I play mafia, since I am often forced to play catch-up and can rarely participate in discussions as they happen. I think it is valuable to know somebody's thought process about something in the past when they weren't here, although you have to take it at good faith that it isn't biased from later pages, and don't really appreciate the condescension in this post. If I had known the pages I was behind on almost all consisted of Acquisitioner mechanical discussion, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

If you really care about whether I'm engaging, you should probably have a conversation with me, rather than just sit around being smug.

"This is a possibility, but it wouldn't be a good play and doesn't make sense" is not a claim you're the Acquisitioner.

Well since my gimmick has been trivialized ill type like normal till i find a new one.

my point i was making was all this speculating about who the acquisitioner is at this point is almost pointless. my gimmick has nothing to do with it either. why would i go through the effort of doing that if i was just going to shed this name at the end of the day anyways and steal someone else's name?

the best way to handle the acquisitioner is wait for their original name to flip, then look for irregular behavior that goes against the norm established today.

May i reccomend typing in a specific font or something. I would see such a thing fitting, if used with the correct font. Remember to like this post to show support for this idea.

I think I lost my draft of my post, but I figured out what you were trying to say anyway. It's WIFOM that invites unnecessary attention onto Acquisitioner-you for Day 1 for little gain. The point was that Apple's contention you had more scum equity for it than town equity was wrong. Do you see what I was saying now?

Either way, thoughts after catching up.

I came off page 10 with the impression IBM was surprisingly villagey. I think wolves typically outthink themselves on being agreeable and hold fast on things that don't make sense, hence the surprise, but their willingness to call out widely townread users suggested that the attitude was genuine.

I don't really know what to make of posts like "this is lazy" right now though. I mean, I agree it can be discarded easily, but I don't think Amazon is a wolf for posting it (the read on Microsoft). Microsoft made a bizarre driveby calling out another user for inactivity, there's a strong attitude implicit in that and it's fair to want to examine it, and I guess it's either towny entitlement or just a very awkward wolfy-popin. Microsoft made an implied wolfread on McDonalds that I am kind of a fan of as well.

Disney, Shell, and Apple were my top villagers. I thought Amazon was generally towny but I couldn't really understand some of their ideas. For example, saying someone is contributing but ignoring them is a good idea. I understand why, but don't agree the conclusion had any merit. Maybe I am more tolerant of people posting in alt caps.

I don't understand why nobody called out UPS's popins (Amazon might have done it implicitly). I am not sure posting gimmicky once or twice a day to avoid phantom is better than NAI non-existence like Marlboro's, which did draw comment.

Not in the slightest

I just found it was pointless since my gimmick was easily replicable so it defeated the purpose of it.
