Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
I don't think that should matter
EDIT: Essentially, that's up to the host and should probably be dealt with on a case by case basis Last edited by the sun fan; 04-4-2017 at 03:52 PM.. |

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
Bump to mention that it would be nice to have a rule that imposes :59/:00 or :00/:01 as good/bad for votes when we end a phase.
It would avoid ambiguity and potential "..but the host didn't specify if it was :59/:00 instead of :00/:01" etc. It's relatively rare, but a few decisions could have gone differently depending on if the players knew beforehand. tl;dr: It's just to have something to refer to instead of asking every time.

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
that kind of thing should be up to mods to disclose, making a rule that removes mod flexibility, even if its small, is something I am generally against.

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
I think they mean host should say ahead of time which it is as a defined standard, like they can choose which as long as it's clear etc

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
How about simply mentioning it in op with the other mechanics then ?

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
might help to have like a generalized TWG Hosting Template or something, so that all the information that is needed to be there is guaranteed to at least be seen by the hoster so that the details like the 00/01 stuff is not randomly forgotten

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
If there's a predefined template it would help a ton with stat collection too I bet
*looks at sig*

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
generally this is something I think I'd agree with you on but for fuck's sake it's a goddamned rule that 100% doesn't affect games, or a host's actually ability to host the game

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
I'm ok with any time (even something like 19:37 Australia time or something dumb like that) as long as it 100% has to be stated in the op before the game starts

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
maybe i can draw up a template or something of "common stuff that's in OPs". i copy one from game to game on MU and it's decent at organizing info, as opposed to whenever i write an OP for here where i just take whatever i did last and change some words (and whatever i did last is also a mess)

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
I feel it should be host specified and just make sure it's known before phase ends (at the latest).

Re: 2017 TWG Rules Thread
The discussion is fine, But hosts have the tools they need to succeed. If they don’t use them you run into problem like phase end times being unclear.
If you are hosting a game, just give the handbook a once over to make sure you got everything. If you don’t then you aren’t completely fulfilling your duties as a host. Don’t even get me started on the lazy postgames.
