Afro, you have to be joking about that "protect themselves" comment. I mean, using that logic, you think it's alright for everyone to arm themselves with high powered weapons. Sure, I've got an anti-tank rifle in my room and I'll be damned if they're going to take me alive. I'll take everyone with me if they try to stop me from breaking any kind of law.

Yup. That's good logic right there.

Your brain is duck soup.

Mal, look at it from their perspective.

We invaded a middle east country for seemingly no other reason other than to "liberate the people." Obviously, they do not want to be invaded. How can they best ensure that we won't **** with them? Let us know that if we **** with them, we'll get ****ed up as well.

To believe that your own country is the only country which deserves to be able to protect itself is just silly.

Your lucky you dont live near washington DC seeing as thats the first place i can think of where a nuke would be dropped.

They'd kind of be doing us a favor. I mean, we all know that Politicians are nothing more that useless wind bags who behave like children once they've tasted the sweet taste of power.

i'd say how stupid, selfish and retarded that comment was, but it seems other members already did that for me.

The USA didn't 'invade for seemingly no reason'. They've had troops at the North/South Korean borders since after WWII. And if you don't know why, then do some research.

I was referring to our invasion of Iraq.

Right. And if we send in an invasionary force, their best retaliation is to end the world by starting a nuclear war.

You're totally right on all counts. That's the best defense.

That's not at all what I meant.

The fact that they have nuclear weapons will force the US to be at the very least diplomatic. I seriously doubt we'd forcefully invade a country that could **** up our west coast at the push of a button.

The instance of them dropping nukes on us won't happen so long as those in charge of the military aren't COMPLETELY retarded.

I think you're mixing up their motives a tiny tiny bit; North Korea is run by a mad man. There's no way he would want nukes as an insurance policy for diplomatic relations.

Sorry for having faith that a person isn't completely evil for no reason.

You're probably right, I suppose. Kim Jong Il is probably insane, and furthermore likely possessed by the devil himself.

With changing administrations in the US, most bombs are never under direct control of a single person, moreover, a collective of people over several years and military cabinets.

Kim Jong Il, by all counts, is a sadist and could quite possibly be insane. So, sorry for not trusting him to simply use nukes as an iinsurance measue against invasion when he has such a Napolean complex and is mentally unstable.

I don't know if this has already been said or not, (didn't want to read all 5 pages lol) but if a nuke explodes over the ocean, the emp from the blast would knock out all electrical equipment for miles. In turn, knock out communication, and our missile defense, not trying to be smart just saying.

rofl

Blowing up a nuclear bomb before it detonates is not like blowing up a stick of dynamite before it detonates.

Totally different concept.

Nukes are great but what i think we really need to be worried about is chemical and biological warfare much more dangerous since we cant really detect it and can be more widespread and less expensive then a nuke
