Afrobean, you don't get it.

They're not obligated to do it. But your mom didn't have a gun to her head when she decided to have you either.

If nobody gave a **** about other people our world would be in smoulders. The USA isn't obligated to do anything with North Korea's situation, but as the currently most powerful nation, you'd think they atleast have something to say? Just the link in the first post proves that very point. People care. People want to do something about it. Quit acting like you're speaking on everyone's behalf.

Quoting Spiderman-

"With great power comes great responsibility"

Now there are a lot of arguments for and against the use of power and infringing on an sovereign nation's rights and blah blah blah. You may feel that no nation should interfere with another's policies and/or activities, and you may feel that even when we mask our true intent with so-called "heroic actions" we are just acting out of self-interest, and really, this is the truth. But those who have the power will use it and use it to benefit themselves, that's the just the nature of the beast.

It's just one of those things, you can argue for or against it, and you may or may not be right. But you won't know until something happens or something comes along that proves to us an absolute truth, which will probably never happen.

Hey guys, point of notice here: selfishness != retardedness.

I know very well what I'm saying and what the implications are. I just don't really care. As far as my consciousness is concerned, those people in South Korea that you guys are hung up on don't even exist, because I'll never see them, hear directly from them, and they'll never have any sort of real effect on my life. Yeah, I know they really do exist, but they might as well not, and why should I worry about something that has no effect over me and I can't do anything about?

By the way, yeah, from a moral standpoint, there should be something done, but I really don't think there is anything we could do anyway. If we invade them like we did Iraq, they'd just flip out and probably nuke everything they can.

Spec, I pretty much totally agree. With great power does come great responsibility. Because of this, I'm going to have faith that North Korea is going to be responsible.

and btw:

complete truth. No need to get your panties in a bunch over something that will likely end up not even mattering. Just think of all the nations that have such power weapons already. Do they use them? No. They probably just want them to be protected so we don't invade them and **** them up like we did in Iraq.

Yeah, invading Iraq was completely stupid, I fell for the initial nationalistic retardation like most, but obviously it was a stupid idea. Nothing good has come of it.

I think you all are missing the point.

N. Korea does not have the ability to put a nuke on a missle. And it won't for quite a few more years.

END OF FREAKING STORY.

It's not too hard. All you need is like...a dozen rolls of duct tape.

THIS JUST IN: The United States has declared a duct tape embargo with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

I thought about this last night:

This might actually turn out for the better, because

1. This move by Kim will draw attention to his psychotic tendencies by the surrounding nations.
2. China is a surrounding nation, if this gets any more worse, China will occupy N. Korea, because of the balance of power upset that this could cause.
3. If China doesn't occupy N. Korea, the U.S. will, and China sure as hell doesn't want that, so they probably will.
4.
a. Both of the Koreas will be united, happy ending or
b. Woohoo more funnnn war!!!

No need to jump down Afro's throat. Most people are like that. I'm glad he was honest about it.

You know what though. First thing I thought when I heard of 9/11 was "Glad it wasn't me." Because you know what, try as we might, EVERYONE IS SELFISH.

These days, would anyone be willing to die for another person's sake? Unless they were family or something and there were conditions to it, I doubt it.

Yes, Afro WOULD care if you bombed his house. THAT'S WHAT HE SAID. But since these bombs WOULDN'T be used near his house, he DOESN'T care. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT.

YES it looks mean on paper, but in the end, who's to say they wouldn't feel the same way? It's not your fault for not wanting to die you know.

If you live in the US and say N.K. could attack the states and you'd be okay, you apparently arent aware of the effects of nuclear explosions. N.K. having nukes is a very bad thing.

All of my loved ones live around me (ie if they die from an attack, I would too, so who cares?) sans my sister, and she also lives in an area that would be a terrible choice for an attack.

ps did I use that ie right (disregarding the missing punctuation of course)? rofl

I said that nobody would put their life on the line in place of someone else. The only time anyone might is if the person were a family member because there's some sort of attachment there. Sometimes.

Learn how to read. And spell. For some reason you just didn't even try on that post.

Try telling this to every single person who enlisted in the armed forces.
