I don't really see how you thought the 16ths at the start of the song felt any better than 8ths.

Also, I think Psycho did a good job for the most part. Had you told me that you didn't want the song to be that hard, I would've made my steps easier. Not that they're hard in any respect, but still.

And the 16ths with the voice in the middle part of the song is definitely touch and go with different people. Personally, that part gave me the biggest problem of the song (more so than the synth) and yet I opted for 8th notes sounding best (tried 8ths, 16ths and 32nds.) And saved one 32nd for the last of each of those voice parts.

As for another MSI song, don't pick something that someone's done before. I know personally I've done Shut me up and that song wouldn't be good on FFR as it just has too many great possibilties for freezes.

Either way, Good job Psycho, congrats. It's nice to see that something GOOD made it into the game for once.

As far as another MSI song, Shut ME Up would be good. It's still not their best song ever, but I do have 3/4s of a file already made, and I can easily take out the freezes. Plus it's also just recently been released as a single.

If not, Last Time I Tried to Rock Your World would be good, Wack! would be better.

EDIT: Upon further listening, Wack! would be amazing. This is my reccomendation

Or, ask them for an exclusive track for FFR.

Don't take freezes out of DWIs for FFR.

What if 3rd Style supports them (and can you really even imagine 3rd Style not supporting them, or at the very least supporting them eventually)?

I Hate Jimmy Page, Planet of the Apes, Keepin' Up with the Kids, Tight, Last Time I tried to Rock Your World, and Wack! all seem like they would be fun stepfiles.

They would also be expected to be more difficult which is good for me because I think my submission for Straight to Video was harder than they wanted which is why it wasn't chosen for ffr so yea ....

Psycho, not a bad file actually. First time I played it I was at school and had to stop because the teacher came in (because it was SO LONG!). And then I got home, played it cold and got like, a billion goods or something, screwed around, and AAA'd technically 4th try?

@ Tass: no offence meant whatsoever, but lol how'd you booflag it >_>

From a lower level player, this looks pretty good. Most new songs seem to be high difficulty, so it's nice to see some easier songs come in now and then. I didn't realize it had blue 1/4 and red 1/8 right away though, and every time I see these colors reversed like that (DDR normally uses red 1/4 and blue 1/8, IIRC) it takes a bit more concentration to not slip back into what I expect to see.

If it weren't for that set of jumps/doubles at the end of the chorus, I'd be doing much better with this song. It seems like my fingers constantly slip up in that part, usually the third batch of jumps/doubles, making me miss and break my combo. I pick up a bunch of boos, too, but the misses are worse than the boos. It's probably mainly my lack of skill, but playing one-handed may factor in to it, too. Oh well. It actually doesn't look that hard, so hopefully I can get my fingers where I want them to go with some more practice.

dronak: reds are always 4th notes, blues are always 8th notes. it is merely because of the beats of the song that the off 8th note takes precedence.

Are you sure? It certainly doesn't sound like the quarter notes are on the red notes. I just tried a bit of it again, and the quarter notes, the strong beats, definitely sound like they're on the blue notes. Listen to the bass drum beat -- to my ear, it's hitting on the blue notes. Those should be quarter notes, and when I tap to that rhythm the whole song sounds fine, but blue=1/4 and red=1/8. If red really is the quarter notes, then I suppose the entire song sounds off-beat to me, which I find hard to believe given my long background in music (playing since I was about 5).

Maybe you are right, but it won't change what I hear, sorry. And if I don't make what I hear match what I see, I can't play the song. There are some stepfiles I can't play because I swear the arrows are twice (or half) as fast as they should be. This song isn't the same as that, but I will have to think of the arrow colors here being reversed, or I won't be able to play this song.

He might have started the song on the 8th offbeat. If not, then all I have to say is MSI uses very interesting beats.

Bleh. I BF'd it twice, I believe, before AAAing. The first time, I split a jump, and the second, I got a good on a jack/jump streams. Wish I could've got it sightreading, but oh well. n_n

Ah, that could be. It does seem like the song doesn't start on the downbeat, and if the stepfile maker didn't realize that, that would probably explain it.

FWIW, a little practice has helped me get my fingers around those jump combo patterns -- I just FC'ed this song. I know that 60 good and 15 boo isn't that good, but at least I hit all the arrows, and that's a start.

Any one care to answer the question of why do some of us have this song appear twice on the menu thingy? Because I have the same problem.
