I know it's really going to upset those older active players with dedication to R1 if 3rd style is completely implemented over R1. I, myself, like R1, and would hate to see it completely overwritten. I'd rather have R3 be seperate, such as R2 is, but thats not going to happen.

Make it more customizable for dial-up players.

interface will be better. there will be speed mods. those are both common knowledge...

as for dial up... that really is hard to do, because of the nature of the game. the game requires you to load mp3 files that are multiple megabytes each. that takes time on dial up. plus, you are constantly sending and receiving data from the server, which is hard to do on dial up, due to the amount transfering...

low res helps, but it isn't a final solution. the only real final solution is to upgrade your connection.

I did a quick search and found nothing regarding this, so forgive me if it's been asked already.

Are all the the songs we have now going to carry over to 3rd style? Or are they going to be all new?

If they do carry over, are the glitches going to be fixed?

Oh crap I just thought of that. Why not keep the old songs while adding new ones, and keep that quality changing button thing. My laptop is slow and I always use it.

I'm not an old player but I do like the current R1 feel because it is well...
FFR and it has its distinct feel. I love FFR for the simplicity of the interface and
the whole combo score system.

I concur with Scottish on keeping it separate.
If that is not possible then I wouldnt mind letting
R3 replace R2 or combining R3 with R2 because
even though I play SM, I just dont like R2 IMO >.>

yes.. i sometimes play FFR at school (and by sometimes, I mean every change I get).. For some reason, R1 will load, and R2 will not load on schools computers.. I dont know why, but if you replace R1, will it be using the same scripts as R2?, because if it did I would no longer be able to play at school.

R1 and R2 are two completely different coded programs that will not be able to combine. All 3rd Style is doing is taking the coding of R1 and manipulating it while adding in new coding so it's still R1, just different for the release.

Considering that R2 took 2-3 years to come out, I'm not expecting 3rd Style to be out until 2007-2008. Just be patient guys. =P
