Actually, ever since the site switch to vb, whenever a user signs up, it not only automatically assumes they're under 13, but it also starts them off with PMs disabled.

Our primary function of making fun of users here may be to create humor, but there is also the secondary, latent function. In making fun of a user for a mistake or weakness, we are encouraging the user to not show that weakness or not make that mistake ever again. It's the basic principle of negative reinforcement.

In the end, the user who had been made fun is stronger because of it. They learn to avoid mistakes such as grammatical and spelling errors, and they learn to not reveal personal elements of themselves that others may find questionable (such as a person being a furry, emo, or gay).

EDIT: I apologize for being totally serious here [was originally posted in the Garbage Bin] , but given the situation, I'd say it's more than warranted. I'll leave the negative reinforcement to everyone else
