It's good that they are giving Vincent his own game, he was great in FFVII, it's also decent that they are using FFVII again as that had an amazing story. Only problem is, it looks (and looks like it plays like) a Devil May Cry clone. So I don't think it'll be that good.

its a third person shooter following the story of final fantasy VII except its main focus is on vincent. Fun for a while but kinda gets repetitive. 7.8/10 If your an FF maniac though it should be worth buying. Still i kinda wonder if i wasted $59.99.
I say that they stick with the basics

If that were the case then it should be you waiting in a coffin for half the game followed by you joining a group of people after Sephiroth until you finally find and beat him.

Uh what? o.O

He meant the game is like a sequel to FF7, only with the main focus being on vincent.

And yea from the preview I kinda had the idea it would be a 3rd person shooter.

Oh. I took it as "This is FFVII being told again, except from the perspective of Vincent". That's how he seemed to put it.

Still, Devil May Cry'ish.

FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus? More like FFVII: Dirge of the Square-Enix Cashing in on an Already Tired Franchise.

But if it is fun, who cares? I saw it at Comicon. It looked alright. Nothing spectacular.

I saw this game ages ago and even then I thought that I hope they don't try to cash in on the other Final games. They've all ready done a little cashing in by bringing out old Final games out for the GBA and DS and such. I don't mind that, that's not that bad of an idea. But I think they got to stop milking this cow, things are all ready going sour. Isn't there yet another Final VII spin off coming out called Crisis Core? As much as i'd hate to admit id like to see films like advent children for the other Final games, I just hope they don't over do it. I mean, the huge fanbase for FFVII has already started to lose veteran members.

Agreed. Although I like to see Square-Enix experimenting and stepping away from RPG's (As much as I love RPG's). I just wish they would leave FFVII alone. Square-Enix are known for there awesome imagination and stories etc, that's why it annoys me when I hear of more remakes or spin-offs.

Seth I think the other one is FF7: Before Crisis. It's two years before FF7 happened (Much like AC is two years after FF7) and it's about Cloud, Sephiroth, and Zack being in the Turks, along with Reno, Rude, Tseng etc. I'm pretty certain that it's a cell phone game. I haven't seen anything on it in a long time (year or so) but so far it only had a release date in Japan.

I bought it and it's good. Kinda stupid how you have to play in chapters though.
