We should really boot another planet out so we can have the magic number of planets.

Because calling something one thing or another thing totally affects reality.

It's still a planet to me, it was on The Magic Schoolbus.

And The Magic Schoolbus never lies.

Nobody cares about any planets other than Earth and Mars.

And uh, weren't they gonna do this YEARS ago? I remember hearing about possible demotions of Pluto in like, early middle school. o_O

Finally someone mentioned it.

You're thinking of the drill with the 'p' start.

Memory devices start with 'm'.

I realized this last night before going to bed. I was like "wait... mnemonic is named for mnemosyne; dur starts with 'm' not 'p'."

You sort of beat me to it. At least I still get to brag my knowlege of the origin of the word before anyone else

When I opened this thread I assumed that half of the people inside would be unwilling to accept that their perfect little view of the nine planets could be flawed.

I was correct.

ps there are other round sun-orbiting objects in our solar system that are bigger than Pluto and aren't part of the nine classic planets.

Oh, come on now. All the sudden everyone has a boner for Pluto just because it isnt a planet anymore. Pluto sucked. And that's a fact.
