1. Are the Colbalt Flux dance pads really worth getting?
2. Should I get In The Groove for the playstation 2, or does it suck? 3. Will the DDR dance mats work for ITG or the upcoming Dance Factory? Pleez answer ASAP. thanks

I said No to the first one because I don't have to worry about not having enough money to buy the metal ones with the bars. =P Not sure what the Cobalt's are like though, but I'm pretty sure they're not as good as the one I have. =P [Energy pad for those who are wondering]

cobalt flux r very nice, soft on your feet, weigh quite a bit so it doesnt move, and the sensors work very well. if u need a bar your basically screwed unless u use the back of the couch or something.

... In other words, if you don't like to use the bar then DON'T USE IT. But please, don't go around saying it's cheating because then that'll make you look like a total n00b. Based on your beliefs, are you saying that DukAmok's full combo on Air on foot isn't good/doesn't count because he used the bar? *shrug* Just please, don't bring this up ever again. |

Man, people always got to pick on megaman for some reason or another concerning ddr or itg. He's just a kid who loves what he plays best...so no point in making fun of him. And i've never really heard him braggin about himself in the vids. Big deal he bar rapes...but so do I and I can barely pass a heavy song...since ive played 2 times in my life. But as for the questions
No- there is better stuff than cobalt that is cheaper..i know cuz i got it, and it's better Yes-it's ok, but it does lack ITG2 songs ![]() Yes-no reason why not. |

Only get cobalts if there are no good arcades around you. Using cobalts too much makes you suck at the arcade pads.

Because they are more sensitive, and you'd get used to barely tapping the pad compared to some acrade pads where you sometimes even have to stomp to get them to register a step.

Because arcade pads are indented and have triangle brackets causing you to have to use different foot techniques to best hit the arrows. Cobalt fluxes are completely level and have no gaps between the arrows so you can barely move your feet at all to hit notes.

I used a couple of $20 dollar soft pads until they stopped registering. Then, my brother-in-law helped me mod them and they've worked perfectly since.
1. Cut open a side of the soft pad (only if it doesn't work). 2. Pull out the printed circuts so they're flat (only if you did #1). 3. Duct tape the back of the pads to a stiff peice of wood. If you opened up the pads, be sure to duct tape them shut. 4. Do NOT put tiles on the arrows. They will fall apart and make a nice mess every time you play. Viola. Excellent pads for less than $30 and an hour each. |
