Hey, I just got the FL Studio demo after hearing some music DJ Mamu made and I am having trouble using it. I can't figure it out and I am getting frustrated. Does anyone have any tips or can someone send me a tutorial?

It should come with a tutorial, shouldn't it? Or there should be one on the official website.

The tuts are for buyers only I think, never really checked it out...basically for quickstart use the left panel (channel presets > 3x osc > stuff like fat string) to rightclick and send the sounds to a channel (selected by clicking the buttons like kick and clap that open by default), and open piano roll to place notes. Make sure that the "pat" button is clicked and not song when you press play. The sounds it comes with are more or less crap, but you can change that too by importing more or by making your own. Do some research and experimentation ~_~

I'll try and help you with just the very basics with a screen shot.
![]() 1. Opens the playlist, which you use to lay down patterns. You'll use this a lot. 2. Opens the step sequencer. 2b. This is the step sequencer. You click on the boxes next to a channel to put a note. You'll mostly use this for drums, maybe instruments. 3. Opens the piano roll, which you'll use to put down different notes for an intstrument. You'll use this a ton. 4. Opens the sound browser. 4b. The sound browser. Use it to look around for sounds and presets. Don't use too many of the default presets and souns in the sound browser, though. 5. Opens the FX window. This is what'll mainly keep your music from sounding like it came from FL. That's all I'm telling you for now. You should be able to figure things out.

I actually don't use the left sided browser, at all. I think it just takes up space. If I learned to use it, it would probably save me a bit of time.

I know what you mean. I am still trying to completely utilize it. I don't want to buy it and find out I can't use it or I don't like it. I am wondering if I can make music like Alpha Helix and other good songs like that.

Yeah, me too. I only managed to play some songs they made with the program. They are some awsome songs. I just wish I could make some.
