Default Ska Songs

This may have been posted already many times, but I dont read through all the forums. I suggest putting a Ska section in FFR, or put some ska songs into the "Rock" section. Anything with a lot of horns is good.

Ska to me is pretty much punk + raggae. Tight as hell. If I could find some ska bands to contribute to FFR I would definitely make some stepfiles to their songs.

Well, maybe The Jaywalking Superheroes could get back together for a song for FFR.

FYI: The Ska band I had in Middle School. And we rocked it out like Andrew WK in a wheelchair (which is pretty freakin hard). I played the Trumpet, Organ, and I was the only kid in the group who could impersonate the Rasta Accent. So, I sang occasionally.

I'll ask the old crew about it.

jesus, just go away now, you've done enough damage.

yea, haha, ska music should be made difficult then. Most of the songs are short anyways. All we need is permission from the artist, correct? If so just get anything by the pietasters or the forces of evil, or maybe even starpool. That would kick ass.

Ska is definitely raggae influenced - especially if you're citing Goldfinger and Reel Big Fish.

Punk is older than ska I believe, or just as old.

Look up Dead Kennedys,Sex Pistols and Crass

Three of my favorite old school punk bands.

I'm actually working on an "Out all Night" stepfile (Pietasters). It's certainly a bit harder than I thought it would be, hopefully it'll be to your liking =)

Look up the Specials (1977), Skatalites (1968), Prince Buster (Early 1960's).

Well, ska and punk came out around the same time. But Ska was first. And ska is more of a mix between Reggae and 50's rock. But in the 1990's it took on the Punk genre too when it hit America's west coast.
