why only one song a week? if theres good ones why not do a couple.

Because i dont think members make stepfiles that are even decent.
Only certain people put together good ones every week.

The only reason we even still get ANY songs added is because Synth is awesome.

This game and site are free for your enjoyment. You should be glad you get anything at all.

Anyway, wasn't the song of the week thing originally supposed to end last September or something? I mean, wasn't it supposed to just be a summer time thing last year or something?

It was supposed to happen every week until 3rd Style or R2 or something like that.

@smitty: there are lots of simfiles... they have... what... 21 for 3rd Style? All awesome, I'd imagine, of different genres than electronica too. It can't be that hard to come by decent sims for FFR.

Anyway, there are a lot of people who can step songs on the spot (and have).

*shrugs* I've submitted 2 songs that were stepped by solid stepfile artists to LD. Still waiting on them to be added. Also have permission to use 3 other files, none have been stepped yet.

But... a lot of the reason is that we don't often have a big influx of songs to add. It is not easy to get permission to use songs.

I would suggest that it takes a certain amount of time for a simfile artist to create a simfile. If we did more than one song per week, then it would be VERY hard to keep up with the demand. From what I think, the Song of the Week should be changed to "Latest Addition to FFR".

I actually think it might be more about permissions than about steps. They probably don't get an artist agreeing to let them use their music every week.

A good song will take me a long time to make. RIP took me about 2 months, Carrousel took me about 1 month to write and another month to make it sound good. I could probably generate generic crap at a decent pace, but that would suck, and it wouldn't be me.
