SEEKING: 2 Simfile artists for future FFR files
I have permission for 2 songs that will likely wind up appearing in FFR, assuming they are stepped decently. I have already procured and had stepped 2 songs, both of which were approved for going into the game. One was stepped by Mead1 and ran into trouble with 48th notes breaking the converter... so I'd recommend not using 48th notes. The other was stepped by Jimerax and is currently in the queue to appear in the game.
One of the songs is a 3:30 rock song. It isn't all that exciting, but it has been YEARS since we've had a new rock song, and an easy rock song is better than no rock song, IMO. I'd like to see some standard to tricky steps for this file. The other is a classical piece. It is 1:10 long, fairly chipper. Catchy tune that doesn't have any long streams, but many many short, very fast spurts. I'd guess it would be a challenging type of file, as far as difficulty. Please post your interest here on either or both files. You may also contact me via AIM.

I'm definitely willing to step the classical piece. You can contact me here. (And I promise I'll make a decent simfile, really!) (And if you've already got somebody you like for the classical piece, I won't say no to making paddable steps for the rock song, either.)

frankly... I don't know how much I trust you, with the way you've been bitching non-stop about FFR over the past week or two.

Re: SEEKING: 2 Simfile artists for future FFR files
Look, I apologize for the stuff I said in that thread. It was rash and unjustified.
Take this as an opportunity to test me, then. Send me either file by Friday morning and I should have steps ready for you (or whoever's in charge) to judge by Monday. If you don't like them, that's fine. =/

File is sent. Send it back to me when it is finished. You be the judge of how difficult to make it, but I won't be happy if it is retarded and doesn't flow with the music.

Re: SEEKING: 2 Simfile artists for future FFR files
The classical piece is impossible to do for FFR. Four measures in and about 40 BPM changes already.
Edit: 40 BPM changes in the MIDI. Meaning it's not just me sucking at synchronizing. |

Hey Tass, Can you please send some this way, I've been looking for something to step for a little while. Nothing too complicated I'm assuming.

Unless they're nice, well-behaved classical songs in MIDI form like Rondo alla Turca v2.

Re: SEEKING: 2 Simfile artists for future FFR files
How good is the FFR engine at handling BPM changes, anyway?
(Stepping classical songs that aren't in MIDI form takes diligence. I don't think there's actually been a single well-done live-recording classical stepfile to date. I wish I had time to do one =/ )

Scorpion Fire's from IIDX. I'm almost certain it's not played live =/

Re: SEEKING: 2 Simfile artists for future FFR files
The classical piece isn't a live recording, FYI. It is a MIDI. Perhaps a creative stepfile artist can work around the BPM changes, no?
