That doesn't sound like something you should be punished for. Accidents happen, your parents are going to turn you into a wreck about your driving if they lay so much importance upon this.

They have every right to be angry. It didn't sound like he even asked his parents if it was OK if he moved the truck. That's just stupid.

Gotta agree with Sert, here. MC made an idiotic mistake and caused probably thousands of dollars in damage. Since his dad took the fall, his insurance could skyrocket or he could be dropped entirely if he's made any previous claims. No, it's not an offense worthy of a beating or anything, but aside from that, I'd say he deserves whatever punishment he gets. It's clear MC knows he ****ed up, and this is something he'll have to learn from. His parents letting him know how close he came to creating some serious problems is completely in the right, and shouldn't make him a "nervous wreck." He has two whole years to learn which pedal is which.

PS: I put my car in drive when I should have put it in reverse the first time I took my drivers test. COULD HAVE gone through a building. Don't feel bad -- we all **** up. I **** up a lot in my car. =)

I got in a wreck in some small city and the insurance offices are still working on the claim...it happened one month and a half ago. if you have google earth or something you can look at where I crashed...
FM 518 before SH-3 going Eastbound in League City, Texas. That dumb b*tch. I'm getting a grille guard so I can total her car if she tries to do anything like that again.

Anyway, they shouldn't let you do that really, and it should be mostly their fault.

Well, I assumed that by saying he's done it plenty of times before that his parents have let him do it. Even though it wasn't this particular situation, his parents made him think he was able to do this at any time easily. I'm just assuming things, but I know people like this.

Also, your "facts" are not that great. A far larger percentage of people drive automatic cars than do manual transmission cars, which accounts entirely for the larger percentage of accidents with automatic transmissions right there.
Fact: Whorlichan likes to ruin all my jokes.

Fact: Automatic still sucks

Fact: If MCRenaissance's Dad's truck was manual, none of this would have happened.

Fact: Facts don't have to be accurate. They just have to be believed.

If it's a fact, then there is no "believing in it". It's true, and theres no arguing with it.

I've hit the accelerator instead of the brake once, while getting my permit hours. No damage done, though.

General rules in the Chicago area...

North side: When the light turns yellow, immediately slow down. Stop at the line. Pedestrians get the right of way.

South side: When the light turns yellow, immediately speed up. If you end up having to stop, make sure you're completely in the crosswalk. Also, keep inching up while you're waiting, especially when you think the light will turn green soon. Oh, and if you're a pedestrian, you'd better run when you cross the street. Cars will not slow down, stop, or wait for you.

You know what I really like doing? I like telling people what I think a word means without actually looking it up in the dictionary. That's what I like doing.
