A really good friend gave this to me, and I thought this was the best of place to post it. It's about a 10-15 minute read, mainly just a man writing down his thoughts, about life, thinking, evolution, and his own demise. Mostly writes about his thoughts on evolution, (which i strongly share), with a short rant in the middle about why he is writing what he's writing. A bit silly, but has some very good points, in my opinion. I hope you can all set aside a bit of time out of your busy schedules to give it a look.
Thanks, Petpro32 Edit: Yes, the title was spelled like that on purpose. |

Well I believe that this guy is very emotionaly challenged and on the break of being known as the stereotyped "crazy"
HOwever he does make some good points. Like saying that your thought of self can be simply taken out and given to another. If this were the case and a child were to recieve and old womens "SELF" would he believe that he was the old women? And what would the old women be left with? He also brings up about something about our evolution that I found interesting. He states that humans have only been around for about half a million years and that in that time zone, the only real accomplishments have been made in very last fraction of it. Does this mean that our time is ending? and that the new generation of "super humans" is coming? Like I said this guy is probably going crazy for wrting stuff down like he did, but some of his arguements make you stop to think for awhile

Uh, how do humanity's accomplishments and evolution tie into each other and thus lead you to the notion that our time is ending?
The only thing into which evolution ties with regard to our dominance over nature is the size of our brain, which, I feel, doesn't make a lot of difference. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Evolution gives us dominance over nature and other beings with increased mobility, intelligence, complexity of being, sensory input, etc. The size of our brain means nothing, your right, but what does mean something is, well, whatever it is that makes our brains tick the way they do. Humans are not the most advanced species out there, biologically. We cannot hear, see, smell, or do many other things as well as most animals, but then again, we are the dominant species of the planet. Why? Read the thingy-mo-jiggy. So now, what's the next step in evolution? How is nature going to make us humans, "better"? To evolve is to gain an advantage over the beings you evolved from, so what kind of advantages would "Human 2.0" have over us? With all the recent work with genetics, and other things outlined in the article, it seems as if WE are the ones who are going to force us to evolve, sooner than later. There's a lot more i could say, but I'd just be re-writing this article for you. Just give it a looksy. And thanks for your input, TIkimanJr. Yes, he is a pretty weird guy, but he's smart. And not crazy, just a horrible writer. Sorry for the 24hr+ bump. Just Hadn't gotten around to checking on it. |
