No offense, but I think you're being a bit closed minded by suggesting that any spacefaring species would HAVE to be similar to us. We truly have no idea what strange forms and abilities aliens might have. Our own "cognitive" ability is a manifestation of a highly advanced nervous system. Who's to say that other sorts of organs couldn't develop in aliens, to a point that they become some defining characteristic to them which is unknown to us, just as we have our "intelligence"? There's no way to know... And that doesn't just mean species "billions of years more evolved than us" - why would they even have to go through our particular waypoint in evolution? What makes our particular flavor of cognitive skills so special compared to any other hyperadvanced (even to an entire different level) trait? It just so happens that humans are the only species on our own planet that we consider to have "transcended" the animals, by dint of our intelligence. But maybe that's just because decision-making and other cognitive skills (i.e. our nervous system) is the only thing that happened to evolve that highly among the species on Earth. We really can't say anything whatsoever about what alien life could be like.

Yes thats what I meant.

first of all, there is no verse in the bible stating that god or jesus came down in a chariot of fire. I think you are mixing up god for apollo, a god in greek mythology.

Secondly, look at how long Earth took to evolve and become stable enough to support intelligent life. Earth is about 4.5 billion years old and we, as in civilized humans not paleolithic and neolithic times, have only been on this planet for the last 20,000 years. Other life is a definate somewhere in this universe, but lifeforms so far advanced that they could have made a spaceship, traveled billions and trillions of lightyears and landed on this planet 4.5 billion years ago when this world began is absurd.

Now if you want to mix the bible with your theory, then you would be saying that we humans mistook the first 7 days of creation as aliens. In fact the 7 days described in the bible is really the very beginning of space, also known as the big bang (or as the bible says, a blinding flash of light and energy coming from nothing, sounds just like fact right) That means that as soon as the unvierse forms, a superior race of aliens would have had to already have been alive for millions of years to become that advanced. nothing could have been alive before the big bang, so that is impossible

to truly answer this though, i do believe that there is some form of alien life out there, and intelligent or not, they exist.

I fail to see how you could function in a material world without proper apendages. The laws of physics arn't going to change my friend. Why do you think dolphins can't build anything even though they are highly intelligent? Are these aliens just going to go flying into space using their speghetti flappers?

They would have to be similar. They would require proper limbs, they would almost undoubtfully be non aquatic and would undoubtfully require a large brain to body mass ratio. They would have to use technology at it's highest level, finding ways to produce massive amounts of energy. I also can't see them being 'evil' 'destructive' beings either, or I don't see how they would have evolved to such a technological level.

I'm not talking about aliens in general, I'm talking about ones with the ability to visit our planet, because who the **** knows what weird **** exists in the universe.

But I mean, I suppose anything is possible XD

But again, the physics won't change. There are only so many ways to travel thousands of lightyears, and they all involve breaking the speed of light. I can't see some giant slimey 10 eyed ball of fat having mastered the force of gravity.

Oh. If you're talking about ones that would physically move themselves to our planet, that's a different concept. I thought we were talking about just any "intelligent" life forms. Still, though, you can't rule anything out - just because you can't imagine an alien getting here without limbs doesn't mean it's impossible - especially since we don't have any idea what aliens would be like.

I don't understand what you mean by "Why do you think dolphins can't build anything even though they are highly intelligent?" o_O Isn't that sort of the opposite of your point? Also when did I say that?

Well then, glad that is now clear XD

Yes, I wouldn't make any assumptions about aliens in general.

But uh, I brought up the dolphin thing to give an example of my point, not because you brought it up. How is it not relevant? It goes to show a species could be intelligent but because it is not properly adapted for a material world it would never ever be able to do something like that.

Maybe we're just an planet in the way of an intergalactic highway that's about to be built. You never know.

Damn - intonation rofl

I thought you meant "Why do you think dolphins can't build anything even though they are highly intelligent?" as in "why do you think that? you shouldn't think that" not "why else but [my point] do you think it is that [it is true that] they can't build anything even though they are highly intelligent?"

As humans we have evolved through thousands of years of evolution, perfectly adapting to our environment. As for the dolphin's, although they are highly inteligent, there features or adapted to where they live. (obviously the ocean)
It is becuase of this why dolphins have flippers not fingers and so on. What I am getting at is that even if an alien race, billions of years more advanced than us visited the earth would not look, think, talk, ect ect anything like what we know as humans. Becuase they are perfectly adapted to their own "home" planet.

Lmao,... Naw I don't think so, nothing can travel the speed of light, but light itself. That is what Albert Einstein said, and he is basically right when you think about it.

No one said, move in normal space, that's too slow. Take a paper, instead of getting from 1 point to the other normally, fold it and punch hole through it, arriving at the destination instantly.

exactly! I dont know if any of you read the Halo Series, but in those books they're ships create a "seem" in the fabric of space and are able to ride through it and come out of it at any spot they want.

Now that might seem farfetched, but take a look at black holes. Some scientists even thing time travel could be possible using black holes becuase of the enormous speed that it generates

Except you missed the part where they would have to adapt to a material world to get into space in the first place. There is no other way. The same things that are here are scattered throughout the entire universe. Though an alien planet would likely be totally different, that doesn't change the fact it should contain similar heavy metals, so I don't see how they'd be getting here other than by using high technology, which would require specific adaptation.

Also, black holes don't generate enormous speeds XD enormous 'gravitational fields'. And I don't see any scientist claiming black holes as a source of time travel. We understand that near the event horizon, time would begin to dilate exponentially, but we also realize that such a field would annihilate you, and chances are you'd be fried by gamma rays long before you got that close anyway.

I agree however, with the 'wormhole' point. I'm pretty sure you can mathematically solve for solutions faster than light, and alcuberrie figured out a legitamate way to break the speed of light. Too bad you'd require negative mass, and energy far greater than we currently are able to even come close to producing. I don't even think fusion would generate enough energy, you'd need a reactor the size of the earth itself. However, I wouldn't doubt the fact that far superior theories will develop, and we'll be traveling extremely fast in the next few centuries.

i kind of think that other galaxies are just kind of a form of our galaxy in a differtent time period. they just havent morphed into our kind of galaxy yet.
i mean we dont know that we always had a spirial galaxy right? or mabye its us in a different form of some sort? ive kind of thought about it a while but everyone kind of thinks its proposturous.
all in all i still believe

maybe you should stop believing in your spelling and consult a dictionary

likewise maybe you should stop believing in your "proposturous" theories and say something that's on topic...?

people need to understand that theories are not merely hypotheses...
