This seemed like the right place to put this, so if you could kindly give feedback =)
Tony Hawk Tony was born in San Diego, California, May 12 1968 to Nancy and Frank Hawk. When he was six, he was convinced that he could swim the length of his swimming pool in one breath, and he always got very frustrated when he couldn’t do it. So frustrated that when he was eight years old, his parents had him psychologically evaluated at school. The psychologist said “ He’s a 12 year old kid trapped in a 8 year old body.” When he was nine, his brother Steve gave him a blue fiberglass, banana skateboard. When his skill in skateboarding started to increase, he started to act differently. He was satisfied with what he was doing; he was more considerate and not as competitive. By the age of 12 Tony was sponsored by Dogtown Skateboards, and by 16 he won his title as the best skateboarder in the world. He won 1st place in 73 pro contests and got 2nd place in 19. When he was 17, he was able to buy his own house. Hawk was constantly traveling all over the world to enter in pro contests and demos. In 1990 he married Cindy Dunbar, and they lived together in Fallbrook, California. ![]() But in 1991, skating started to rapidly lose its popularity; Hawk’s income drastically shrank and forced him to sell his car and house in Fallbrook. In 1992 their son Riley was born, and Tony had to start bringing in money again, so he formed a skateboarding company called “Birdhouse Projects” with former Powell Pro, Per Welinder. It’s now one of the largest skateboarding companies in the world. After two years of very slim success, he and his wife Cindy divorced because Tony’s future didn’t look very bright. Eventually skating regained its popularity and he started to make money again. In 1996 he married his second wife, Erin Lee and bought a new house. In 1996 he started a kid’s clothing company called ‘Hawk Clothing’, which was acquired by Quicksilver in early 2000. Tony then signed a contract with Activision and created Tony Hawk’s Pro skater for Playstation. It was a huge success. They expected decent sales, but it quickly became a bestseller and the following year they created Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. It quickly grew to the #1 seller. There are five Tony Hawk games now, and they’re deemed as one of the best selling videogames of all time. On March 26, 1999 his son Spencer was born and July 18, 2001 Keegan was also part of the family. He and Erin divorced in 2004 but Tony remains an involved parent. When Tony turned 31 he decided it was time to retire, which meant he stopped doing competitive skating but still free skates everyday and still does demos. In 2002 Tony started a tour called Boom Boom HuckJam, a 30-city tour featuring the best skateboarders in the world performing stunts while music plays in the background. It was a huge success all over North America. In January 2005 he married Lhotse Merriam on Tavarua Island, and they continue to live in San Diego. With the creation of the Tony Hawk Foundation, he decided to help out community skate parks across America with over $1,000,000 distributed to non-profit skate parks. You're 13, for that I'll say it's good, but in all honesty in the grand scheme of things it's pretty basic and not entertaining to read.
