I personally use 2 hands. But everyone that I know says I do it in a wierd way. I use my right hand with my middle and ring finger for up, right, and sometimes down and on my left hand I only use my index finger.

I use two hands for most harder songs, but if im playing an easier one because i like the music ill use one hand. I use my index, ring, and middle finger for right, up, and down, and i use my index on my left hand for left.

Personally I belive one handed is better for getting the rhythem of the songs down. I've always found that one handed the best you will ever be able to do are eigth notes. If you wanna full combo Gradeus or something with a ton of sixteenth notes its gonna be really hard or almost impossible one handed. Two handed is the way to go for songs like that. Anything less than masters though can probably be full comboed one handed.

Completly unrelated but i just full comboed X-Dreamer final cut one handed the other day Yay for me!

ok in the begining of the topic people seemed angry with me so ill clear it up

alright first i did not mean to call 2 handed users cheaters at the time I thought using two hands was cheating because it made the songs that I was playing at the time realy easy and 1hand made thm harder so I didnt mean to afend anyone

and also thank you everone for clearing it up for me I will try to start using my two hands iv tried quit a bit i put my left hand index and middle finger middle finger is on the up arrow index on on left arrow and right hand i use my index for the down button and middle for the right button does that seem weird? if so please tlel me how to improve again i think that goes back to the whatever is your style or easiest for you type thing and no I cant remember who said it but no i am not new to ffr or any stepmania games ect iv been playuing it for about 1 and half maybe more so I am not new

One handed supposedly gives you more bragging rights. Other than that, there is no point in playing one handed unless you just feel comfortable with it.

You play the way you play, it doesnt matter. Saying "i didnt do as well because I play one handed" is bull**** too. No one's MAKING you play that way.

and yes about the junior thingniv been ffr for a year but a stepmania for 2 so 3 years worth basicaly of finger moving action oO im no noob just kinda new to game and new and better techniques

I currently use spread, but long ago I went from one hand to index to four finger to finally spread. Bascially when I went to index, I got StepMania. So I dont play R1 anymore. But I'm pretty psyched about 3rd Style.
