Marijuana became bad when it was made illegal, before that it wasn't bad. Why? Because it didn't hurt you.

Even though I do not smoke (Because it is illegal, and I simply do not wish to take a chance with the law at this point in my life), I do not see it as bad. I personally believe it should be legalized, compare it to our legal drugs.

Marijuana - Impossible to overdose, relaxes you, many studies have shown that it does not cause cancer (We can still say this is not 100% sure, but it is more sure than it is not.), nonaddictive.

Alcohol - Easy to overdose on, drunk driving, makes some people violent, causes liver problems, able to be taken safely in small to moderate dosages, relaxes some people, moderately addictive.

Cigarettes - Proven to cause cancer, extremely addictive.

Looks like tobacco is the worst, then alcohol, then marijuana. Heh, interesting. The arguement for cigarettes and alcohol could be that in small doses you don't notice any significant effect, the same might be true for marijuana (I do not know). But it seems to me that those who do smoke marijuana, should be merry today, let them have their fun all you misinformed straight edge people.

Actually, marijuana is addictive, especially if you have a genetic predisposition to addiction. Kind of like alcoholism.

Human's really aren't supposed to inhale anything other than oxygen. What you literally are doing when you smoke marijuana is putting smoke in your brain, which OF COURSE kills brain cells because it's NOT oxygen. The brain needs OXYGEN. Not MARIJUANA SMOKE. Mmk?

Hey mindfields try inhaleing pure oxygen for a while. After prolonged exposure you can get sick. And if your really thinking we are "bragging because be broke the law" then you havn't been paying attention.

420 isn't only supposed to be a primary day of protest and a day to smoke with others. Regardless of where you stand, it's also a symbolic event of how lenient our government system (yes, even in the USA) is compared to other countries.

There's lots of rumours about why 4:20 even exists. The most solid source, from some marijuana magazines, is that in the sixties a group of teens would go and smoke marijuana at 4:20 pm after school every day. Coincidentally there's also April the twentieth where someone said, "Hey, we smoke weed at this time, AND LOOK IT'S A DAY WITH THE SAME NUMBERS!" Other rumours are that marijuana has 420 chemicals in it. Wrong, it was 450. Rumours that it marks Bob Marley's death. Wrong, he died May 11th. Rumours that it use to grow wild along highway 420 in Ontario, Canada. Again, this is wrong.

I had quite the day, I used to smoke weed all the time, but I quit after I got alcohol poisoning the day before the superbowl. It's not a bad thing, but it's not a good thing. I've seen it from both sides of the window and it's really a neutral substance. It's the extremists who really drive the whole deal out of proportion. "OH IT'S BAD ANYONE WHO DOES IT IS WASTING THEIR MONEY AND HAS NO HOPE IN LIFE," I'm sorry, have you tried it? No? But, without a firsthand experience you're just talking off of secondary sources. If you have tried it and believe that then it's all in opinion, but I rarely find anyone like that. Then there's pot smokers who daily smoke hefty amounts of weed. Sure they're influenced by it and it changes their way of thinking and damages their brains gradually. But it's not YOU who's doing it, so stop bitching about how they're scum and need to find something better to do in their life.

Funny story, today after school I was sitting in a park with some of my friends and we look across the field to see some kids smoking pot in a dugout. Grade nine and ten girls mostly, skids (emo/goth hybrid) most of them as well. This park's just across from the school and it's about 2:40, ten minutes after class gets out. I have the idea to phone the school and inform them of what's happening. So my friend does so and they all got caught and most likely suspended. Had a good larf or two over that.

Saying anyone who smokes pot is a waste of flesh is a stereotype and it really wouldn't surprise me if you turned out to be some racist **** because of how you judge people without knowing them. If you think all pot smokers are stupid, then you're just as stupid. Maybe some are, but when I used to with my friends we all still got on the honour roll every term, in fact I haven't missed a single honour roll yet and neither have my friends. If you think it's bad because your close friend or someone that you knew well had their life messed up because of it, then you don't choose friends very wisely because they're weak and let substances rule their days.

I'm not saying this to you specifically; this is just the first time I noticed this in this topic, even though I'm sure it was already somewhere.

I just have to say that this is something said time and time again about any drug, and it's a silly fallacy to say you can't make a judgment without trying it. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's possible you can have even more of an unbiased opinion on something like pot without using it.

Reason being--drugs affect you in more ways than you're aware of. You can't actively discern everything it does. You feel good but that's one part of the whole idea that needs to be weighed against the rest to make an opinion.
