I'm perfectly aware why people don't like me because I have NOT ONLY EXPLICTLY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT, I HAVE OFFERED PLAUSIBLE EXPLANATIONS AS TO WHY. Your own little "ppl h8 u bcuz u r dum" falls apart because while I initially acted like an arrogant bastard, I stopped and and offered a completely logical explanation as to why. Thusly, if people continue to hate me, it is a personal reservation of theirs. I'm only adding 2 and 2 to make 4 here.

dontcare: Besides reckless oversimplification, you're entirely missing the EFFECT of your alternative. Hasn't that been tried a million times already? Every other time somebody logs on, you can find somebody else telling them 'u do this bad specialkthnxbye'. I'd be ignored in an instant if I did something like that, so I conceived of a new, fresh approach to it that targets the ROOT of the issue: the fact that people can think too much of themselves, instead of the EFFECT of the issue, flaming.

And must a creative person always have some sort of flaw that totally discredits anything they might have said? I actually have a rather healthy social life which includes a tight knot of 4 friends (one of those 'the guys' gangs) and a fiancee. Is it so hard to believe that I simply wanted to prove a point, nothing more, nothing less, and no strings attached? Why?

This has got to be...downright...the most boring thread ever. Man, I must have way too much time to read it all.

ThunderClaw....I'm not sure what point you were making, but please don't respond with another long ass post explaining what it was. You obviously aren't here because you enjoy DDR Simulation and wanted a forum to talk about it. That in itself is a good enough reason for you not to post here anymore.

Good, you've had your fill of psychoanalyzing all of us. Now leave us the hell alone.

Some people here are boastful, arrogant, conceited, narcisitic and stuck-up. But these are the people who also command our respect, because they've all made their mark on the FFR/SM community somehow. Lots of them are profilic stepfile-makers...or help mod the forums...or somehow, with their presence, changed the Forum forever. It's almost as if they have a right to be arrogant.

Don't argue with me, because I'm right, and the regulars here know it.

Pheh.

The people both TC and I have issues with are the kind of people that any forum could do without. I'm sorry, but no one, NO ONE, likes people that flame for no reason, argue without base, and are just generally ignorant.

I also don't think that most of the ones I'm thinking of make stepfiles, so that's out, too.

Mwerp cares. He was curious and intrigued by my plain. Archowl cares. When the situation changed, he was very quick to be civil and speak to me as an equal. He wouldn't do that if he could care less--he'd just ignore me. You obviously care, since you're putting so much energy into this.

In the field of cerebral argumentation and logical reasoning, a personal attack is considered surrender.

Sinjin: If you don't know or care about the point I'm making, why are you wasting the time and energy making a post that mirrors one of my own 'long ass' posts attempting to explain why my point is invalid? Nobdy has the 'right' to act arrogant. Some people are worthy of respect, yes, but nobody has a 'right' to act unpleasantly to others. Period. My rights essentially end where yours begin. I do not have the 'right' to come up and explain to you why I'm better than you--aside from not caring, don't you have a 'right' to freedom from unneeded mental stresses? Isn't that pretty much the point of having a system of manners in effect in the first place?

first impressions stick out in peoples memory more than the way a person actually is most of the time.

yea i remember when i came into the argument... the whole plato's natures thing... its all good. i dont have a problem with you anymore because your civility has overtaken your arrogance. i would wager more people would see this if you stopped trying to prove your point to them and just let them figure it out themselves... sure it will take longer, but whatever.

That's part of the point.

From my own observations, one must never, ever, ever stop giving a person chances. Some of the best people I know, I initially hated due to first impressions, and I know I'm hated a lot due to first impressions. It's just, like... How can I put this... People change, constantly. So, your perceptions of any person must also change constantly.

quite true. however, its always better to try and make a good first impression on account of those that will simply write you off because of their first perception of you. obviously part of the point... though it was dishonest... was to make TC look like a complete jerk to everyone for the first couple days and then turn him into a civil person. while this little experiment played out exactly like you thought it would, it was dishonest. its not that he changed, its that he pretended to be a way that he wasnt. perhaps this was exactly what the idea was, but in any case you have likely lost several potential "friends" as a result of this... if you care.

I managed to get a few people to realize the import of what I was saying, however, which was really my intent. Like I've said before, if I just came in and logically told my bit, nobody would listen because they've heard it all before. The new approach gets beyond the defenses that people traditionally put up by basically catching them red-handed.

As for losing friends, you're right--I don't care.

While this is true to an extent, in my humble opinion, most people that write you off due to first impressions are usually people not worth associating with as a "friend".

Have you bothered to process the statistics of those posts, however? None of them are pointless 'heh' 'lol' or 'me too' posts. They all have a valid, discernable point and many of them are over 4 sentences long. Is it so inconceivable that some people simply have things to say?

Also, with a half-dozen people speaking to me in particular, some flaming, some making valid arguments, and others asking simple questions, you sort of get reasons to make posts.

Furthermore, I have said, multiple times and at great length, that I don't care about what you people think of me as a person. Why would I waste my time postwhoring? For respect and a higher post count? Please. Like I care. Analyze the facts.

bballplaya: Thank you. Readable posts are a very charitable common courtesy for you to extend.

*sniff sniff* Smells like ass. Someone must have been talking out of one.

You obviously care somewhat, because you've made multiple posts towards TC after saying you weren't going to care anymore.

If there is one thing I hate more, it has to be when a complete moron makes me read an entire 17 line post that doesn't say anything. Out of all the things I could be doing, I just read through the entire 7 page thread of some loser talking trash just because he thinks he has a point. TC if you have a point, be concise. I'm tired of your ramblings. If you don't want to make friends in a forum go away from your computer and read a book about someone with the same psycological problems you have. You must get beat up everyday, if you have to come online everyday and talk trash. Grow some balls and get some friends, life is short. Get a girlfriend, those are always nice. Maybe your gay, get a boyfriend. Whatever you do, you better hurry up because living on the computer is sad.
