Er... Yellows? I'm going to assume you mean gallops.
What you're talking about is a 1/16th note right after a 1/4th note. On faster songs (Insertion is fast enough for this to apply to it), you should jump up in the air while looking to see which arrow is first. Bring your legs down one after the other, making sure to hit the arrows in the right order. If you're having trouble judging how fast, remember this: The space between a 1/4th and a 1/16th note is half the time between a 1/th and a 1/8th note, and a vice versa. |

ok here's my tip. You know how you can switch the scrolling arrow speed? ALWAYS Keep it at least 1.5x or 2.0x. I personally use 3.0x or 2.0x (never use scrolls on Max songs though, obvious reasons there your eyes will go insane). It's easier for your eyes to proccess what comes after another. Naturally I begin to hear the rythmn and beats in my head when I start scanning the arrows...and who's the idiot that made up the term gallops?!

Yes, both abyss and tsugaru have gallops (Tsugaru also has special 32-nd gallops...)
The word "gallops" was used because you jump one foot after the other, like a horse does when running, and a running horse is a "galloping" horse. |

haha...no wonder I feel so gay when I'm galloping..esspicially for Can't Stop Fallin In Love Speed Mix
Well if you wanna "pratice" galloping just go play So Deep Sphere Remix, I can get AA on that song 50% of the time..just make sure you set scrolling speed to 2x or 3x cause my eyes don't work when it's at 1x. |

I'm sort of confused on what a gallop is...
I'm thinking its like this: ^ ^ ..> ..> ....^ ....^ ......< ......< Right? |

No, not like that... You know the sound horses make when the run or gallop they make that "clopclop -- clopclop -- clopclop" its like that... with arrows... they have two fast arrows, a small break... then another pair of arrows another small break and so on... That's best way I can explain it... bah.

LOL
sorry to be off topic But dc slaughter's signature image looks SOOOO modded Especially considering the perfect count should be 555 But the modded 9 mil score is what made me laugh |

What you diagramed was a perfect example of a crossover (like the beginning of AM-3P)... but not a gallop.
If you have DDRMAX for the PSX at home, play Abyss in training mode with the assist tick on. You'll hear the "clop-clop-clop----CLOPCLOP----" where the "CLOPCLOP" is the gallop. This also works well with Tsugaru on DDRMAX2 for the PSX. EDIT: 573 is actually the proper max combo, but because jumps count as two steps in combo but only one step in score there should only be 555 perfects... and there should be 2 ok's, for the same reason... and yea, the score should read 100 mil :P We all love autoplay, dont' we? Another edit: Look at the chaos bar... It's empty :P Just some advice, it's a lot easier to photoshop the "autoplay enabled" message out than it is to photoshop in all the other numbers. |
