Wow. The look of the new machine is appealing, first of all, as are what I've seen of the menus and screens. Dunno about everyone else, but thats important to me. Wish I could've been there to check it out, but I'm all the way on the other side of the country.

Looks like it has a decent song selection too. I've recently gotten into IIDX, so when I saw DoLL I was liek omgrofltehbbqgg. I can't wait to try out Fascination MaxX. Saw some of my old favorites.

I'm sure that when the systems are released, most of the current flaws will be solved, like the very noticably offbeat arrows, the oversensitivity of the pads, and missing screws , but a couple things that will likely remain bother me.

1. Jumps should count as two steps... As someone said earlier, doing a jump requires more energy, and, more fundamentally, there are TWO arrows there. The logic escapes me.

2. Scoring system. Flawed indeed, I'm not so sure how this system works, but the idea that I can get all perfects (I'm not quite good enough for the aforementioned, but I can dream), and a boo because of an over-responsive arrow and end up with an A is sort of silly. The other scoring system is, in my opinion, much more reflective of overall skill.

As I understand it, though, both of these things are also in the home version of DDR Extreme, which I played at home for a good amount of time and enjoyed very much, so I'll get used to it. :P

Overall, Supernova looks great, and I cant wait to wear out the pads a little myself when it hits the arcades.

P.S: This is NOT a which music game is the best thread. Like ITG better? Go to an ITG forum. This is not a bar raping cryfest either. Some people like to use the bar, I use it myself often on harder songs (11+ ITG), it's their way of playing. Hate the world for it in your own special corner if you need to, but stop harassing bar users. It's a shame this has to be said over and over again.

You might want to write Betson about that. I agree completely, and here's an example of the garbage scoring system:

Notice also 'Final Stage,' so on the set, I got no Extra Stage.

We should get an electronic petition going or something. :P They will obviously be more affected by a group or a community giving their feelings than just one guy writing a list of grievances.

That aside, what exactly is Beston (sorry), and, if you know, how could I most easily contact them?

PLEASE tell me you did it on purpose. I'll slap you if you didn't.

I really hope they tweak that somehow.

Then again, so does everyone else.

Nah, the new pads are weak and give out massive amounts of noncombos at random. For example, I had several runs of Nijiiro with 0-2 Greats and 2-4 Boos before I had a (lucky) Full Combo AAA, lol. I found that if my foot were on the down arrow, the left would sometimes not register. Same with up & right. About 10% of the Up-Right jumps did not register.

Still trying to stay alive....? STFU.
About bar raping. It is more fun when you dont hold the bar. Also doubles should count as 2. BTW have you even play DDRSN or ITG3? Dont compare 2 games that you havent even played...

The reason you say that, is because you suck at ITG. ITG was made to cater to DDR players who are bored of playing that piss easy stuff... And I can compare ITG3 and Suprnova. I've seen the hardest stepchart for Suprnova, and it looks like an ITG 12 footer... I also know that ITG3 will be loaded with more 13's. So yeah, I can compare both. DDR died, just face it.

And no, I'm not saying any of this because because I'm bitter about DDR or anything... I consider myself to be a fairly decent DDR player. I have around 1/3 of the game AAA'd, and I find ITG to be signifcantly harder.

^ Anuj is right. Trust me, if you can read fast scroll speeds, Fascination MaxX (Which I'd say is about an ITG 11) isn't even as difficult as Paranoia -Respect- (Something like a tough ITG 11 ~ easy 12?). The only reason I wasn't able to finish it was because of the overresponsive pads.

You fail to take into account the fact, that, although ITG has hard songs, they have garbage steps (16th streams sign me up) and the songs suck too.

The DoLL video looks really good on DDR. Surprisingly. I guess Konami did a bit of work on it, rather than just converting it to the right aspect ratio. That, more than anything, tells me that Konami actually cares about this game. They remade a IIDX vid in high quality for it.

I'm definitely looking forward to SuperNova. I don't play DDR to beat the hardest songs over and over, I play it to have fun with easier heavy steps. Nothing wrong with hard stuff, but leave that to PIU or hand-based music games.

Great songlist, truly. Curus = instant win. I still say it needs MY GIFTS, though.

^ Agreed. Some people (like me) play games like ITG and PIU for those stupid-hard steps. Its songlist really is kinda crappy, too, when I look at it. There's like five good songs. However, I still play DDR...I mean, seriously, who can resist the inherent awesomeness of Love <3 Shine and Stoic?

They'd better put that IIDX video for Stoic in...Otherwise I'm gonna be pissed.

Also, I say someone make a song called Moogy and send it to Konami.

Dude, they better sync the end of Stoic, haha. I'm going tomorrow and I'll try to play D2R and see if the earliness actually puts it on sync.

I believe the release is set for May 15th, but that date is still shaky right now.

It'll probably come out at around the same time as IIDX RED CS.
