Most of the city got shut down here once because it was almost -50 C. But atleast that's a good reason. Exposed skin freezes in like 60 seconds at that temperature.

The last time I had school cancelled because of the wind was in like grade three. Right now we're getting this arctic wind though and it's horrible for sports, imagine being on a field in nothing but shorts, long socks and a jersey with a -6 C windchill.

Everything stopped here too (Quebec, up north): Schools are closed, streets are closed, lots of people couldn't go to work, I couldn't go to work (Yeehaw!), etc. So yeah, this wind + snow + ice = ack!

We had the first snow day that we've had for three years in our district yesterday.

Well... it wasn't so much a snow day. More like a light showers day.

Then we get blasted with freezing air today and school's on. I think I got frostbite in twenty places on the way home.

It gets to be really windy around here. School never gets canceled for it though. It gets windy enough to pick up sheets of aluminum from my neighbors old trailor and slam them into my house. That's scary.
