I'm stoked about it and and all, and probably won't have too much of a problem funding the trip, I guess my question, is what is the cost for the weekend stay? I know the room rates... I can't seem to find the actual convention price though.

Since very few people request registration for only two days, there is no separate two-day option, and it's cheaper to just register for the full weekend ($50) than it is for friday and saturday separately ($25 and $35)

These prices are not final, but the basic breakdown is not expected to change.

I have only ever been to Katsu, AMA, Otakon, and Neko. There might be one more, but I don't remember.

TADAA! Here's a quick overview of some cons in this area.

February: Katsucon - DC this year apparently - Decent con, good size. Unfortunately, the video rooms suck terribly. XD They really need to get someone else to do that job... I think last year's was worse than ever. I don't go to a con to watch dubbed anime they show on Cartoon Network. Nevertheless, it's still fun if you're there with good people, and there's always the game room and dealers' room to go to.

June: Anime Mid-Atlantic - Richmond, VA - Never been there, but I might go this year if people keep harassing me to.

August: Otakon - Baltimore, MD - OMG HUUUUUUGEQRj21h. So big they had to limit admission to 20,000 because they were getting too big for the convention center. Huge dealers' room you can actually get lost in. Tons of stuff going on all over the place; good guests since the con has such a reputation. Downside is that the place is SWARMING with anime fanatics and it's hard to breathe.

November: Anime USA - Vienna, VA - Nice little con. I've been going since its second year, and it's been getting bigger and bigger. I kind of liked the close-knit feel of it in its early years, when you ran into the same people all the time, but the content (especially the puny dealers' room) suffered as a consequence. It's gotten bigger (and better, by most people's standards) since then, though. I'm kind of attached to this con.

November: Nekocon - Virginia Beach, VA - Never been there either. >.> Too close time-wise to AUSA, but farther away.

Not really. What we have on this site are people called, "Bullshitters". These people like to talk lots of shit about things. Then when the time comes to do something they bail. But that is ok. Im going to try my hardest to try and get to Katsucon. If I can make it out to a Venture at an arcade, then I can make it to a convention an two hours away from my house.
