Chicago Meetup... any takers?
So, FFR has planned some meetups recently. The Texas and Virginia regional ones did work. The national Michigan one did not. I think it's about time we tried again. Why would this one work when the the other one didn't? Well, you get to meet me, Kenzya, Neonatrias... oh yeah, Synth lives here, too. We can all hang out for three to five days, hang out, and take pictures to show all the members that didn't show up what a horrible mistake they made.
So, what's the plan layout? Day 1: Everybody arrives. We all head to BZ Naperville, play some games, bowl a while, maybe play some laser tag, and meet Synth (if he agrees to show up). Night 1: We all wander downtown Naperville, grab something to eat, and terrorize the general public. Day / Night 3-5: Who the hell knows. Some ideas: Nickel City (AMAZING ARCADE - A MUST!) Navy Pier Six Flags Great America Odyssey Fun World etc. etc. I'm thinking this will happen around early to mid-July. If you arrive by plane, bus, or car, it doesn't matter. But if you fly, it's best if you come through Midway airport and stay in the same area as other members in case you need to bum rides for the trips. I lives MUCH closer to Midway and its general hotels, and it'd be the most economical way to make this all work. But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. The planning comes later. Anybody willing to do this? Anybody have any other ideas, something they'd like to do with the FFR community in Chicago? I'm posting this to gauge a general reaction, and this is for all of you (except noobs that don't really know us). Let me know what you think, and if you'd be willing to come!

I'm all for it! Another place would be like gameworks (schamburg) with loews right next door and woodfield right across the street. Thats my only suggestion because thats like my backyard and i'm there all the time. Those seem to be the kinds of places that the others have been held at and the reactions were usually, if not all, positive from them.

I would be greatly interested in this, but only way I'd be able to come is if I get a job soon, and even my license.
Too bad I have a really low drive for that kinda stuff.

RE: Chicago Meetup... any takers?
I couldn't come to the Michigan Meetup because, well I'm 15....
Something in July would be great, because I can probably get my family to take a vacation and Chicago is one of the places my mom wants to go to. One problem, my dad started working for a new company a few months ago and might not have any vacation time. If not, I doubt I'd be able to go but I could get the money and go myself. If somebody could give me a ride, that would be great, and I would pay you. I live east of Kansas City. |

We can also go to Lazer X. You will need to look it up because I forget its location. I went there with Vale on his last day bac from Florida. Has ITG and a nice little 2 floor laser tag arena. I'm sure we could entertain ourselves there for a bit
Some downtown Chicago rummaging would be awesome too. If we make this meetup when it is warm outside then we could visit the big block that spits out water in mellenium park. If I do give out some rides, which I may or may not, then you'll either be listening to blink-182, Jack FM, or a talk radio station the whole time. XD |

This may be a possibilty for me. It would be around a 4 hour drive, which isn't real bad. We'll see when July rolls around.

I'll see if I can make it. I'm not sure how 3-5 days will suit with my parents, but it's worth a shot.
Navy Pier didn't really seem all that exciting when I went there with my class in 8th grade. What was fun on that trip was Six Flags and ESPN Zone. |

RE: Re: RE: Chicago Meetup... any takers?
I'm liking the ideas and feedback, guys. So far, I'm feelin' it on...
Gameworks (maybe Nickel City is a better option, though?) Lazer X (staff sucks, but the laser tag may be worth it) Downtown "rummaging" (I had this in mind, but didn't know how to put it) Everything is open for debate. Keep the ideas flowin' and your possibility of coming, guys! Plane tickets aren't bad, hotel rooms can be shared, you have THREE people so far, at least, that you can potentially bum rides from, so keep an open mind! dAnceguy, if you can only stay a day or two, that's fine. I'm just saying we could potentially make this last for 5 days or so. It depends on how much there is to do or what everyone wants to do. The thing that the Michigan trip lacked was variety. I live in Chicago. I know the area. There's limitless possibilities here. That may make all the difference.

By the way, I don't live far from Chicago.
I'll go if I'm still within 3-4 hours of Chicago and one of two things: 1) Alicia goes and she's single by then... 2) Joe (fusi0n) goes... Not for gay things either (sorry Joe). But he's mad cool. 8) |

If it happens, I'm going. I live in Ohio and I could drive. I do have a pretty nice car, and if there's anyone on the way from where I live (Columbus) I could pick them up. No problem with that. We'll see what happens
