Personally I think it's kinda cool, but it'll probably won't be enforced so well. It could be, though, if a website administrator were to take legal action and ask the service provider some stuff.

i think it was a rider on a bill that had to pass, so we cant just blame bush... just the people who got it attached to the bill.

The bill was bootstrapped. Bush is not to blame, Specter and co. are.

This is a piece of trash legislation. Either it will get ignored by everyone and treated as such, or someone will raise hell about it and it will be stricken from the books lickety split.

It's stupid. Pretty much any actions will annoy people, no matter how small they are, which is basically forcing you to disclose your identity on the Internet. Though it's not a problem in a community like this, those MySpacers probably could get in a lot of trouble if they gave their identity away.

No way to enforce it because "annoy" is unclear. If anyone was brought up on charges, they'd easily be dropped because of this, and the law thrown out at that time.

Anybody could say, to anything, "Oh, that's annoying, I'm going to press charges."

It's ridiculous, and it won't work. I mean, harassment charges might be suitable, but the provisions of the law make it incredibly problematic in enforcing what its real intention is. "Annoying" really isn't the proper term to use.

Not like this law is going to be taken tio extreme effect or seriousness...

There are tons of laws that get signed every year... Next to none of them actually get taken seriously...

Idaho Law (No joke here): It's illegal to fish off a camel's back. Violators will be penalized with jail time and/or fines... Serious law... But is it ever going to be enforced if a cop sees a person fishing off a camel's back? haha

That and I can see Moogy being someone's bitch soon...

there is an pld law in california that says if you detonate a nuclear device within city limits you might get fined up to a maximum of $200,000.00 there is also a law in north carolina that says you can't tie your elephant to a parking meter. whoever attached that law and others like them is stupid. ohshi- i just annoyed someone

mofo should read before he signs. If it was present before the bill was given to him, it's responsibility to either read it all the way through or have his staff do it and then report back.
