Default Arrow Path idea

Idea. What if you decided to rethink this entire idea from scratch? Well, thats what I did. The only thing I kept was the arrows (cuz we all know arrows are uber leet) and the health bar.

set the board up like this. Place 4 arrow emitters on a center hub to represent 1,7,9, and 3 on the numeric pad on the keyboard. Set 4 more on the outside of the scene to represent 4,8,6, and 2. Have the center emitters emit arrows toward the outside, and the outside emitters emit arrows toward the inside, and just to make it tricky, create an arrow that comes from the screen and goes down to the center of the central hub and have that arrow represent the 5 key on the number pad. Then mix in all the stream, freeze, off beat etc arrows. I bet that would be hella hard and tons of fun. How far can you push your limits? I think this would really test it.

just an idea.

I'm not afraid... it's just that idea is really retarded. If they did that they couldn't call it Flash Flash Revolution anymore. Keep in mind that FFR is supposed to be a DDR simulator, not a crazy messed up arrow game.

That's what I was thinking, but all the work involved to get it to actually work... just adding marvelous or making a 1.5x music speed would be so much easier to program.

yah, indeed. I think it would be cool if you could take an exiting 3D engine and use it and some creative alpha channeling and low poly 3D work and some decent textures to create a semi-3D version where the emitters and stuff were all 3D and you view it from almost straight above but kinda off to a side or somthing, would be cool. I'm off to college for Computer Animation and Digital Media next year, but I donly do the 3D modeling, I dont program or anything.

Do you have any idea how hard that would be to make in Flash? It would also run at about 10 fps.

Intrepid, it sounds like your idea would be better fielded by the Stepmania guys, who could probably make a game setup for it (like pump, ez2, or parapara support)

And Bemaniruler for graphics. That is a "team". I guess. No, probably a better name for them would be the "leet ffr guy posse".

...I had no sleep last night.

Yeah, but have you seen the credits on SM? there like 75+ people (To get the credits you need to get an AA or better over all).

Of course. SM is open-source. opensource = hundreds of devs. And that's why SM is CVS.

I can't help but be reminded of the general complexity of SNK's 'Cool Cool Toon'.

To summarise, the game's annoying control system made the game suck.
