Default MAX. (Period)

DDR Extreme came out in Japan today, they added a new song for extreme called MAX. (Period). Get's to 600 bpm. The song is really good. Hardest song ever. You really want to watch the video and get the DWI, trust me. Many people agree that this is the end of DDR since they havent made a new arcade version, and they always do before the release of the new console version. In MAX. (Period) he says "Why do you need konami for success) many times over, if you listen you will hear it. And at the end, he says "Thank you for playing". My beleif by that song and other evidence, DDR is over. Fun while it lasted. Bai Bai. Anyways, since im cool, here is the song.

The stepfile isn't to hard, but on DDR... not to mention he was playing an extra stage, aka no regen.

Nice stage none the less.

The little interlude goes back to the original DDR. Good memories.

That song had a bit of Paranoia, alot of Max, some new old DDR Shit, a slow down, a really hard evil final last 4th note run at 600 BPM, a "Why do you need konami for success"? voice being heard, and at the end when it says "Thank you for playing" I assume it means thank you for playing DDR in general, this is the end, we thank you, goodbye. Sure does suck

Indeed, it does have the "bye bye" feel to it.

How odd, it says "Thank You For Playing". Capcom says that, and I dont think Konami would even try to tread on that ground.

I was just thinking of a theory, since it says "Why do you need Konami for sucess" and "Thank you for playing", which is a Capcom term, that maybe it's not the end of DDR, but the end of Konami making DDR.

Thank you for playing could be a hint at them being done under Konami contract and having Capcom create the next version.

Of course, that's just my opinion

It seems unlikely that another company would take over DDR. I mean, there's not that much to screw up, but you can never be sure with a revered game like DDR. You'd think people would have learned from whoring out licenses to people who have no skill in making games (Zelda for Phillips Cd-i...oh sweet Jesus...)

Of course, the real reason they made no profit was because of all the pirated machines, especially in Korea and the surrounding area. How are they supposed to make money off mixes they don't sell?

Exactly. They aren't making enough money off of it, because of boot legged versions and machines. Theres probably as many boot-legs as there is regular ones. No money = no more creating. It's quite sad really, it means that eventually everyones going to stop playing, and its not fun going when nobody is around or cares.

They're going to make new DDR's. Naoki announced that it won't be made for a long time and when it does it will be on totally new hardware. Isao (dj rice kcn of dj trunks boards, iori of gamefaqs) posted this. He is a VERY reliable source.

I mean arcade anyways.

I've heard rumors that everything will be hardware encrypted in the next mix so people will have to buy all new machines for every mix. That means no more "switch this cd out and put a new one in" upgrades that plauge every arcade I go to. About 5% of the DDR machines in Ohio are legit. Namco claims the machines are legit, but I can see through their photoshopped marquees - don't give me that bullshit.

2 things:

1) If it has a mem card reader can you be pretty sure it's legit?
2) I live in Ohio too. Do you know of any you are sure are illegitimate in SW ohio?

I live in NW Ohio so I haven't observed too many SW Ohio machines. I do know the Gameworks Columbus DDR USA is legit, though. Out of the six we have here, two are legit.
Most legit machines have the reflective Konami seal on them, which means they were originally legit if they were upgraded. If the machine was upgraded, it is not legit because Konami does not deal upgrades. That's why the encryption rumor came up because if that is implemented it is going to be harder to bootleg machines. I heard they were redoing the cabinet design as well.
If the machine has mem slots, there is a greater chance it is legit, but not always, such as the case of Major Magic's, Toledo, MAX2 machine - bootleg all the way.
