I personally say IIDX. Unlike DDR, which just requires stamina and arrow-reading skills, IIDX requires skill, and has much better songlists than DDR. There's no overplayed crap like Nori Nori Nori, Bu Dam, or Stomp To My Beat.
Too bad there aren't enough IIDX machines around here, and if there is one, its DVD drive will be broken and the screen will be rather dark. >_< |

I would go to the lengths to actually say DDR is equal on difficulty on IIDX. And DDR has just as many good songs as IIDX. |

Heh, I thought I was the only person who said asshat here...guess not.
IIDX is the winner in my books. It has nothing to do with skill. I just like it better because I like the song selection better and I get to play it in the comfort of my own home on my sound system and big-screen and there is no arcade drama over IIDX where I live (cause the nearest machine is about 2-3 states over >_<) |

Why didn't Arch0wl vote for DDR then?
I voted IIDX simply because it is beatmania (I havent exactly played IIDX yet)

ok ok ok ok, you all call us fags for liking IIDX better? well ive played both extensivly, and i greatly like IIDX more, yes, you need skill in both, but im sorry, the hardest level in IIDX is muuuuuuch more dificult to even begin to attempt compared to ddr. in my opinion, it does in fact take more skill to be good at IIDX then it does at ddr, even tho ddr is easier to freestyle and have fun with

Okay, it's like arguing over which is better: Dancing or Preforming music.

this is kind of a stupid question but why is reading arrows and doing it with your hands take more skill then reading arrows and doing them with your feet

Over here in Japan, in the arcades, DDR machines have no line and no one wants to play it except the occasional couple. For IIDX, I have to wait a long line. Same with DM and GF. Perhaps this is because its been a couple months since the last posts on this thread...

Nah, I've heard similar accounts from others in Japan. In the tight Bemani communities over near Michigan in the U.S., it's about equal right now. Those who have been playing Bemani for a long time flock to the Guitardora, IIDX and Pop'N while those who are just getting into it spend more time on the DDR and BM (5-key) machines. We have a GF 9th around here and I'm really starting to get into that and if things go okay, there will be a Pop'N in my hometown sometime soon.

I just very recently purchased a Konami IIDX controller along with 5th and 6th style... I can definetly say after playing DDR ever since it first stepped on to the PSX that IIDX has a much *MUCH* steeper learning curve, definetly much more difficult, and requires plenty of eye-HAND coordination skills, as well as finger muscles (My hand literally did hurt and felt sore after many sessions the first time through). I can just barely do any level 6s, some 5s, most 4s, all 3 and below... cant even comprehend level 7 or flashing 7s yet. It's very addicting, and I absolutely love the songs in the series. Techno/trance is definetly a big ++++ in my book.
As for whether which is better... I love both equally. Konami <3 Bemania <3 DDR <3 Beatmania <3 Pop'n <3 Guitar Freaks <3 Drum Freaks <3 Parapara <3 that-one-game-with-the-sensors-kind-of-like-parapara <3 I love them all, they all have a unique style and flavor, but I definetly gotta give hardest-difficulty award to Beatmania IIDX. |

It's hard to not revive dead topics when pretty much every topic is dead
Except for maybe the top 5 or so. |
