It's not like you didn't know what music was going to be in it when you got it. It listed in many places all the songs that were going to be on it, you had fair warning of what was on there.

wow moogy, i really hate you.

The game is easy, if you cant use your pinky to hit the 4th button, just give up on life.
The wammy bar is good if you want to increase your star power.
the songs are fun, in my oppinion.

Maybe im just saying this because it is really easy for me. Just because it has music like me and you have herd, doesnt mean it cant be a good game. A lot of people like the song iron man because they know how the rythem goes and it makes the song that much easyer. I dont know how much time you spent playing the game but you can buy songs for bands you have never herd before.

If you want a good fun guitar game, this game is for you. It can be easy and it can be hard.

Gosh falconsfan, how is it that you proove your self smarter and smarter every day like that? It blows my mind. Your IQ must be nearly 4 digits.

Anyway... I've yet to play this game. I've heard from a lot of people that it's really good, and this is the first bad review I've seen. A lot of the reasons that you hate it do seem pretty trivial, but I'll await my trial of it before I try to argue.

I found this game to be more extensive and fun than Guitar Freaks. While I didn't like some of the charts in Guitar Hero, they were quite well done for it being the first in its "series", that is to say if it continues.

The major problem Moogy had was the music, and the playstyle. Both of which I found were fine, except I would have liked a better music selection personally.
However, even though the music wasn't to my exact tastes, it's not like it was so horrible I wouldn't play it.
Gameplay was just fine, I liked it more than Guitar Freaks because I felt as though I was playing a real guitar, moving my hand up and down the fret board switching buttons. It added an extra degree of challenge aswell, and it made it quite fun. In my opinion, this was a nice bonus to the game. 5 buttons > 3, it's much harder.. it's like comparing DDR to ITG (difficulty-wise).

Anyways, for anyone looking for more of a simulation taste in the game.. and doesn't mind mainstream music (it's not too bad, there are some good hits in the game), then I recommend this. The learning curve is quite nice, you start off on easy stuff with only 3 buttons for quite awhile, and it gives you a nice amount of time to learn the 4th and 5th buttons. Not to mention free play, where you can fool around (you can still fail, but it doesn't count for anything) and learn even faster that way.

Just my opinion.

i may have to step in with this one since i play Guitar hero and is onwe of the best games i ever played in my life...

first the songs are awesome clasics songs and old school clasics that any metal head or true metal lover would enjoy playing

second the game is absolutely playabale, the control is shaped like a guitar so you can do the same motions you do in a guitar like slide your hand up and down the bridge to play the right notes and frets, if moogy cant do this im sorry but that means you are musically challenged then.

third the music affects a lot the gamplay it has original and clasic songs, the originals are the bonus tracks you buy as you advance in career mode

for the rest i say Guitar hero is one of the best music games ever, if you hate it is cuz you suck at it and cant play it cuz either you are musically challenged or you never ever picked up a guitar before but practice makes a difference.. im out

Moogy, there's a point when you oppose everything where you start to make a fool of yourself. You assumed people who have no musical talent play the guitar, pretty much. Remember the ukulele thread in Chit Chat before? Last time I checked the ukulele and the guitar are very similar.

Even so, you're slighty contradicting yourself. I thought you liked Guitar Freaks? Or at least the music... PROBABLY PLAYED ON A GUITAR? I'd be pissed like hell if I picked up a game named Guitar Freaks where all the stuff was played on a piano, "da reelz intrumant".

Moogy doesn't like this game because he sucks, from what I've gathered in this thread.

I didn't notice the thread before, so here's my say now.

Guitar Hero is one of the funnest game I have ever played. Ever. In my whole life.

Yes, yes, I do. First, Moogy said the 4th fret made it too difficult for him, and then the 5th fret made it nearly unplayable. That's like saying DDR is too hard because it has more than two arrows for both your feet. Learn to use your pinky; learn to slide your hands on the frets. It's not that difficult, honestly. On expert difficulty, I have got a 5-star rating on about half the songs, a 4 on most the rest, and have at least passed every song in the entire game on Expert barring some of the bonus songs (Cheat on the Church is impossible on expert, I swear.)

The music selection is FINE. It's got some of the best rock songs of all time on there. Bark at the Moon? Cowboys from Hell? No One Knows? Cochise? I had at least half the game's songs on my personal music playlist before I got the game. Go ahead and bash my taste in music, I suppose. I have never understood the philosophy that music is better the less people like it.

Anyone who likes Guitar Freaks over this game is a Bemani whore, in my exceedingly unhumble opinion. The difficulty of having you use more than 3 fingers alone makes it better. I personally like the song selection better because I don't really like J-Pop and most forms of electronica.

Moogy has said multiple times in this thread he doesn't like the guitar. It shouldn't be a surprise he doesn't like a game that is centered around music made with the instrument. All I'm getting at is that his opinion on the game is going to be tainted negatively by that fact, just as the fact I like the guitar and rock music is one of the reasons I LIKE the game. It's a matter of personal taste.
