Default Graphics Card question

Ok, so when I went to Best Buy earlier today shopping I bought a PCI ATI Radeon 9250. Unbeknownst to me, my motherboard has an APG slot instead. Not wanting to return it (I'm stubborn like that), I went ahead and put it in one of the PCI slots and took the crappy nVidia Vanta out of the APG slot. I plugged the monitor into the Radeon and it works just fine. I want to know whether or not what I did really matters, will it damage my system in anyway? Will the card blow up? Does it not matter at all? I'm thinking it doesn't matter unless you like keeping your PCI space free for Memory.

In the meantime, I saved $100 offa this mofugga, and I'm gonna use it like it's never been used before, assuming the package was never opened before I did.

uhh there is no problem. You have a PCI card, you put it in a PCI slot.. is there something I'm missing? Sure, the card before was AGP, but that doesn't matter.

then dont post.

He clearly stated what he needs to know.

As far as I know, your graphics card may or may not be damaged, it depends on the compatibility on the motherboard itself. I don't think it makes too much of a difference. A graphics card is a graphics card, in both the APG or PCI slots, i think. I would take extreme care and monitor your monitor's (lol) display and see if you noticed dramatic changes/problems. If so, then you know what to do with the card. If not, then i guess you are safe. IMO, i wouldn't do anything to a motherboard that i'm not sure about, even if i am lazy. Hope all goes well. As long as you placed the corresponding card in the correct slot.

Mindfields, you'd be better off asking someone from the company that produced the motherboard and/or video card you're using. Personally, I don't know a damn thing about vid cards. Unfortunately, it seems neither does anyone else who's posted in here. =P

SHUT UP YOU FAILURES jk i love you BUT DONT POST PLZ.

There's nothing wrong, even though I would take it back because PCI cards generally don't get very good performance. The PCI bus is VERY slow compared to AGP, which is even overshadowed now by PCI Express x16. However, if you're content with the performance and really don't feel like returning it, there's absolutely nothing wrong.

Kthxz.
I only play 2 games, and as long as those 2 are able to be played, I'm down. I don't play any of that... World of Warcraft of Guild Wars...
I was thinking about pincking up GunZ with this new computer. Maybe buy Age of Empires III.

GunZ will easily run on that, I have the same card, works fine. PCI as well, plays Quake 4 decently.

No damage will be done. All it means is if you get a new mother board with PCI-Express it will work alot faster. If you only have it in an AGP slot then it will still work fine.

I'm surprised you can decently run Quake 4 on that, TPS.

GunZ runs great, unless some noob *** is using the unlimited sword blast hack. Lag like a bitch, then see some chick with nothing on but a bra and boxers on teleporting everywhere with a huge yellow trail behind her.
