LOL. Nah, I posted that when I had just woken up from a nap. :P
Left Arrow - left middle finger Down Arrow - left index finger ![]() Sorry for the confusion. (though come to think of it, you could probably do it with the keyboard laying in front of you long-ways... assuming the length doesn't bother you, it'd be a pretty comfortable position to play in IMO). And sadly, I'm *not* very good at FFR or SM. Timing just isn't good enough to hit Perfect/Marvelous every time, always end up with about 5-10% good/greats. Enough to FC most intermediate songs, but not enough to AAA anything harder than Standard difficulty most of the time. I just enjoy playing - I don't have any aspirations to be a DDR/FFR/SM God. I'm an all 4 finger player
Ring finger on left arrow middle finger on down middle finger on 8 ring finger on 6 works very well for me, I'm Dual handed, hard for me to use just 1 |

I use same style as Icemage, due my arrow keys not registering quads but when I use left arrow, down arrow, 8numpad, 6numpad. I can do quads np. Besides it's a lot better than playing with 4 fingers on arrows only, my finger used to bump into each other and my fingers are pretty slim after switching to aforementioned setup, let's call it "spread hybrid" I improved by a lot in ffr.
Also I play spread in SM with "zx" "./" setup.

Where's the love for the 4 finger arrow key or WASD players?

I use QWOP. Spread is the only style worth playing.

not letting my post go until I can get some replies for this:
Are there any songs for SM that anyone can list for me to practice my LD UR trills and increase my speed on the ASKL setup? Right now I can do 16th runs at about Quasar speed with little difficulty, if that helps the list any =P |

Left Index - Left Arrow
Right Index - Down Arrow Right Middle - Up Arrow Right Ring - Right Arrow This is standard for me as I also play Index with my middle fingers.

i use a pretty basic setup
Right Index = Left Arrow Right Middle = Up / Down Arrows Right Ring = Right Arrow seems to work pretty well for me, i can do most songs reasonably well up through Master. Guru+ too hard though. maybe its just me but spread seems soooo lame for this game. sorry. I'm sure it takes some skill but not even CLOSE to the amount of skill you need to do one handed. |

When i first started i just put my fingers on teh arrow keys and started pounding away, i never tried anything different except left middle = left arrow, left index =down , right index = up arrow, right middle = right arrow. I can also pllay the same way on the number pad. I can also use my middle finger and ring fingers in the same positions. But I still use the arrow pad the most. I can complete all the levels on ffr, been playing for about a year....well didn't play in the summer. It was really hard at first to get finger strength and coordination for doubles but i got it down now.
