What Kind Of Pet Have You Always Wanted?

To be honest.. I have always wanted a pet badger. It may seem unreal, but I want a pet badger.

Currently I have A Dalmation named Oreo.

I'd love to have a giant panda bear, provided it doesn't want to maul me, of course. I have to settle for my little panda right now, though.

A giraffe would be sweet. Alligators... Basically, I'd want anything that puts extreme fear into the hearts of anyone who would meet it. Except me, you know.

Personally, I've never had anything except dogs and cats. RIP Juanita, for I loved you so...

In all actuality, I hate animals. I see no benefits of having one. It requires attention, time, and money. In return, you get some bond. Forget that, the only kind of bond I want is a savings bond. Not worth the money IMO.

I've always wanted what I have: kitties. It would be nice, as Mal said, if they stayed small and cute forever, but mine are fat and cute, so it's okay.

If I could have one, I'd want a miniature red panda. I know they don't exist. But that would be AWESOME.

Well, I already have a cockatoo, so the only things I can think of to top that (if we were just wishing) would be to have a Canadian Gosling, or a Polar Cub.

Of course, if your snake ran away, you would then have Noah Boa.

As for a pet... I always wanted a cockatoo (they're so sweet X3 ) or maybe an African Grey parrot, because those are really smart and can be trained to do and say all sorts of things. Only problem is that parrots are a lot of work to keep, and they live soooo very long... so I'll probably never have one like that.

The coolest pet would be something really intelligent.

But being more realistic... I have a doggie and couldn't ask for anything better. :3

God, Cockatoos are SO destructive. I have one, I know. African Greys are also the same. Cockatoos are social birds though, and African Greys are a single person bird, who bites anyone who isn't THEIR person.

Our Cockatoo chose me as his mate. The problem with that is when he tries to do mating dances on my head while I am asleep.

I have to let him in the bathroom while I take a shower, or he will shred the door. Then he stands on the shower ring and watches me.

When I have a sleeping bag out, he MUST be in there with me, snugging against my stomach. One time, I fell asleep with him, and he dismantled my $300 dollar watch while it was still on my wrist.

Yeah... so I have heard. African Greys are more like "novelty parrots". XD But cockatoos... I used to spend time doing nothing but hanging out with them in the pet store sometimes. They seem pretty cuddly as far as birds go, and had a really nice, indescribable feeling of of understanding somehow.

My little friend in the pet store enjoyed chewing on my glasses, though. >_> Couldn't get him away from them. I see what you mean by descructive.

Edit: Cute photo. X3 Is that not the yellow-crested kind, or is the crest just not visible in that picture?

I like how the crest flips up a little bit even when it's down.

On a semi-related note, I would not want one as a pet, but I've always wanted to ride a giant sea turtle. And by always I mean ever since I saw the host of Reading Rainbow riding one during that show one time. But seriously, I would love to ride around through a busy city on a giant sea turtle and tip my hat to people as they passed by staring.

And as for parrots: oh hell no. Parrots creep me out, with their talking like me and such. I dunno what kind it was, but it's like the best at immitation, and we were in a pet store and one was there, and Mom was talking to it. She said something and it repeated, then Mom laughed her very original laugh and it did the exact same noise back at her, which creeped me the fuck out. I know they're just mimicking our voices and they aren't really super intelligent, but I swear it's like there's something more going on in those little bird brains of theirs...
