I hate the fact that I want to respond to EB's post so bad, yet I can't find the words to type what I want to say without makeing myself feel like im repeating everything that I have already said. Or something someone else has already said. OR something that was said between two people where you would have to think about it to come to a conclusion about what was just said.

Squeek, someone (maybe it was Reggie) once said that the Revo was being made not to compete with the 360 and PS3, but to be an addition - a supplement, if you will - to one's next-gen gaming choices. People are more or less expected to get a Revo and either the 360 or PS3. This is because of the both of the price difference and the difference in system styles.

Concerning multiplayer, if the rumors about what the Revo will do are true, then not only will it have online MP capability, but it'll extend back to the backwards compatibility, so we'll be able to have stuff like Super Smash, GoldenEye/Perfect Dark and StarFox 64 online play. If Nintendo pulled that off it would definitely cement them a spot in the online world.

I've already played Call of Duty 2 for 360. My local Walmart had it on so people could try it out. The little controllers that are coming off the game cases that are hooked up to the T.V. and allow you to try games or demos out before buying. Yeah the graphics look really good. Good Combat. Not much else to say. I didn't play that long.

A couple of things I noticed, skimming through this thread:

I do not want to change the way I play games. YOUR stuff is the reason I like playing games in the format most console games are relased in already, you don't need to redefine what you guys perfected.

My opinion exactly. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Nintendo's approach is to mix things up a little and, you know, TRY SOMETHING NEW.
How about they try something new in the form of an add-on, and not in the form of a multi-hundred dollar console.

The thing is that Nintendo does feel it is broke, or soon will be.

Nintendo isn't going broke anytime soon, they have a deathgrip on the handheld market even with the PSP out there.

Disliking online play makes little to no sense to me. I mean, sure, I hate the random internet moron as much as the next guy, but competitive games (first person shooters, fighters, driving games, real time strategy) are incredibly fun to play online against other people. You can only do so much against an artificial AI. Real people evolve (or stick to a gameplan they think is flawless and inevitably gets defeated hehe) making it much more interesting.

I think people who hate online play also hate all forms of sports, because they can't handle when they lose to someone they assume to be inferior to them. =)

Anyway, I don't see Nintendo's handheld market grasp slipping anytime soon, but I fear for their console spot. The PSP doesn't really have anything on the DS. Graphically, is it more powerful? Sure, to an extent, but it also doesn't have GOOD graphics, making that point pretty moot. The PSP is expensive as hell because it wants to be a million other things. I'll admit, portable movies would be kinda cool, but I'm not going to shell out money for a UMD when I could get a DVD and watch it on my Hi-Def television. If I wanted an MP3 player, I'd just get one of those, as well (seeing as a PSP memory card with enough space to be worthwhile are like $80).

No one said Nintendo was broke, or even going broke. Nintendo made money on the Gamecube as well as their massive handheld market. I meant that Nintendo feels THE GAME INDUSTRY is broken. And this is their attempt to fix it.
