I myself have been subject to button smashing because I feel that it is near impossible to indivudally identify each arrow type it then go end endlessly in 1/16 notes. I believe that in certain parts of Uber Rave, Revolutionary Etude, and Flight of the Bumblebee, that button smashing should be condoned. I know I'm resorting to a cheap way of getting past those, but I have found no other alternative yet. Do you think it should be condoned for certain parts, always condoned, never condoned, or don't care.
CONDONED = ALLOWED (For you vocabularily challenged)

whatever gets you past the song...eventually you learn the parts (slowly for me) but then when you learn them you feel all good inside.

....the point of the game is to survive, get points, etc. (not to metion have fun...corny) If button smashing helps you achieve those objectives, let it be.

NO, it should NOT be condoned... If you button smash A) you won't get any better at all.... B) you won't learn to read notes, which you have to do...
Also, your score will suck... You should be able to hit 32nd notes atleast without button smashing

really? You can get past them, as can I by not looking at the keyboard and button smashing.. I could close my eyes and beat something like Minute Waltz. That is NOT skill... If you get a good score on the level (passing means nothing) that's another story... Like if i beat rev. etude with like a score of like 50/100k, that means nothing...

Nima you make it sound like all you have to do is constantly hit all 4 arrows for the entire song and you'll miraculously get through it. Sorry man but boo's really hurt the button smashing concept a lot (trust me, I do it sometimes to get through hard parts on uber so I can see the arrows and hopefully one day learn it) you do still have to somewhat read the arrows when button smashing or else you'll boo yourself to death really quick

. I still stand by my desicion that boo's should either hurt you more or lower your score more, but that doesn't matter either :P.You still can't key smash on revolutionary etude and beat it. That's why I love that level, lol. |

Revo is retarded... it doesn't matter if you key smash on it or not. And Uber Rave is very easy for one hand, but like it says on the topic about it on Arch0wl's boards, the song itself is not fun to play. |

I beleive that random button smashing turn to button smashing with discretion then the eventual understanding of almost each arrow on the cluttered parts. Uber Rave near the end has a somewhat extended volley of arrows that I can't get thorugh yet but I'm trying w/o button smashing.

I'm starting to get better at the song, but my fingers just aren't used to moving that fast yet... =\

My advice is to get used to the 42684268 and 48624862's.
And I have to admit, I key smash on Revo and Minute Waltz. |
