These cannot all be honest explanations of the same event. bugkid called it a crash out, but the way two contradictory explanations, each that contradict the original intent, are put forward to explain what would've been a simple mistake by town!Zenith does not add up.

All it would've taken to honestly and genuinely explain the original mistake would've been "oops, nvm I forgot this was a vanilla game!"

This alone is telling. I think the only way the multiple layers of dishonesty can come from a town player is if they're so ego-driven that they can't, at any cost, admit the mistake. I guess that level of ego could also explain why town!Zenith would be willing to try to drive a revenge lynch with no real read behind it, but I think that's a lot to swallow and I find it hard to believe the two together can both come from town. Lynch All Liars.

also, assuming Zenith==Wolf makes this post:

a very planned entrance to D1 after NKing Raeko. the "itinerary" basically creates an easy series of posts to make and look like "solving" is happening, when in reality a Raeko ISO does little to solve the game. Her reads could've been 100% accurate or 100% worthless and we'd never know.

I didn't notice how absolutely strange that "itinerary" post is. Even just the idea of announcing everything you plan on doing for the day phase. It feels extremely performative, and to your point, the end result would have just about zero surprisal.

As a whole it's solipsistic, and not in a "townie locking in" way, but rather a "my highest priority is about where *I* fit into this game", which is overall a wolf quality

I literally explained what the "intel" thing referred to in that same post. A player with interactions with everyone in d0 is more valuable to lynch than a player who's only interacted with half. That's why I was confused why the vote was switching. As for you though, voting doesn't require making a big response, the voting trends especially at that stage in the early game matter because of what you believe, especially if in the opposite case, you're catching heat. It really does sound like you were wolf strategizing buddy

You tell me, did you ever feel the need to wait for your partners to be online before posting?

Personally I've never really cared and I think the answer will be the same for most people. Unless you need to coordinate a vote rush in LYLO or something

I am being a bit glib in that post, not sure if that is why you are reacting so strongly to it.

Despite the fact that I have quite a few town reads I currently feel good about, I have been struggling with feeling left with a lot of people that I don't have enough on.

The people I already liked most before the end of the day, kind of reinforced that during the end of the day by being relatively engaged with vote options outside of Ben and me, which looked to me like active solving.

It would basically not surprise me in terms of how the day end played out, for there to be a relatively inactive wolf voting for Ben for "info" as a preferred vote off option over me. It feels like a safe spot for a wolf to be in. So it is a sentiment that you and Xel deserved increased scrutiny.

the PR thing with Zenith though, I can't shake that his reaction might just be flat-out narcissism (sorry, Zenith). it's such a weird hill to die on.

if he was a wolf, I guess there's the world where he's ultra-paranoid and wants to immediately dispel any possible perceived misunderstandings about his intentions. a kind of panic, knee-jerk reaction. but as was mentioned, it would have been infinitely easier to play it off as a dumb-tell (tbh i kind of thought it was a dumb-tell, too)

wolves fake dumbtells, sure, but to feign a dumbtell and then actively undermine that by arguing that you actually spiritually meant what you said the entire time, makes not a lot of tactical sense.

That specific point at least, feels more like he believes what he's saying and wants to set the record straight, even if it makes him look self-absorbed.

The comments about Raeko and how "she was his top town read" and that he's upset she died is pretty bad, though.

That's not the point, I just wonder if anyone else finds the idea of two wolves going back and forth alone in the thread like it's some literal staged play to be weird at all. I would totally do that if I was wolfing, but I don't know about other players doing it. If people think it's a bit weird, I'll look into it more

it's a thing, sometimes called "wolf theater", and can be a good way to either manufacture consent by artificially steering a conversation a certain direction, or it can be used to create distance between two wolf partners

It probably isn't the most likely thing to expect, but not unheard of
