Boom Kitty had updated his copyright policy (idk when) which makes all songs be under an All Rights Reserved license, so I don't think Creative Commons applies anymore. He also requests fees for songs getting licensed in video games now. (Well, unless if we were to use only one Level 1 song.)

These prices are for smaller developers and we charge more for larger games.

- Level 1 songs: The first song you license is free, all further songs each cost $50 USD.

- Level 2 songs: The first song you license will cost $50 USD, all further songs each cost $100 USD.

Current permission & proof stipulates usage of songs flagged as Creative Commons, so even if rules change on their website, songs listed elsewhere under Creative Commons still follow the guidelines of Creative Commons. That includes music & songs quote "listed on their website as "Rights Reserved, Loosely Enforced"", until otherwise changed.

So no, this doesn't 'overwrite' permission, but is a further '2nd option' or alternative to the pre-existing permission provided until they either change songs listed as Creative Commons, change wording on their website to lose the "Loosely Enforced" music, or address us/reach out to us specifically.

Realistically, it's impossible for any 1 person to stay on-top of 1700+ musician artists and permissions especially when a good 400+ of them don't exist anymore on the internet, so typically when there's a change in permission, it's additive unless it calls out pre-existing permissions provided (which some musicians have done <3 you all for that) or ask us to change. In this scenario, if they removed all options for songs in the previous way the permission is made available, then they've done all the changing necessary to swap over to what they have now.

hololive Derivative Works Guidelines was updated last August. Apart from updating the list of exceptions, the change is:

For songs by Mori Calliope, Kobo Kanaeru, or Moona Hoshinova, or any song from Blue Journey (a 2023 collab project with EMI Records Japan), search both the JASRAC and NexTone database:

Each entry has listings about whether JASRAC or NexTone manages the copyright for each category of derivative works. I'm honestly not sure where rhythm game charting falls under. I'll update the post if I figure it out. Anyway, if it says O (they manage the copyright), and the publisher is Universal Music Publishing (ユニバーサル・ミュージック・パブリッシング), you have to contact Universal Music Publishing.

(TODO: what if the publisher is someone else...? Just use it?)

This makes permission check significantly more complicated, so at this point maybe the v9 sheet entry should be replaced with a link to this post lol. I'll merge all the relevant information here later.
