The Da Vinci Code is the worst book ever. It's totally BS and it's terribly boring and written badly. ps lol jesus

Currently, I'm not reading anything. I need to go to Barnes & Noble and pick up some books and manga. I finished Les Miserables recently; a great book if you have the patience and skill to read 1600 pages. I was planning on reading the Discworld series soon, they look pretty neat.

Moogy: re: Discworld...my god, that may be the most intelligent thing you've ever said. I love Discworld. Terry Pratchett is sheer genius. Also try Good Omens, which is Terry Pratchett + Neil Gaiman = HOTT.

Oh yeah, I've read a few books by Neil Gaiman... he's awesome. I'll definitely pick up the Discworld series then, I randomly found its page on Wikipedia the other day and decided it was cool (although I had heard of it before, obviously). And stuff.

Good Omens is a damn good read. Neil Gaiman is the shit. Sandman is seriously the best story in the world.

Check out Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. You can't go wrong with a book where the main character's name is Hiro Protagonist.

During the last couple of months of my summer vacation (which ended 8 weeks ago), I read three of the best books I've read. They were the first three books of the Dark Tower series, which are The Gunslinger, The Drawing of Three, and The Wastelands, by Stephen King. To those of you who hate King, these books are completely different from his others. These books kept me reading for a long long time. So long that my parents were getting mad that I wasn't doing anything else but read those books. I'm currently working on the fourth of the series, Wizard and Glass.

You should check out Coraline. It's geared for younger kids, but it creeped me out when I read it a few years back.

actually Digital Fortress may be the worst read of all time.

Umm, I've done a boatload of reading this summer, from real random genres.
I'd have to strongly reccomend Catch-22, The Chronicles of Amber, ANYTHING by Heinlein

yeah, those are the important ones

Obviously, I received and read Eats, Shoots & Leaves by Lynne Truss. It's hailed as a grammar book, but really, it's a book about how to prevent stupidity from spreading further.

I also received and read Steal this File Sharing Book which is obviously a book about file sharing. I quite liked it, but the author got redundant at times. His book is very much up to date and full of awesome facts you probably didn't know about file sharing. Plus, he's quoted in my signature.

Also, Lynn Truss is giving a lecture at Baylor.

And when I get my next paycheck, I'm picking up a book I saw recently called Hillary vs. Condi. Or Condi vs. Hillary. I can't remember. Anyway, it looks effing amazing.

Oh... hah.

It's a good book.

Sorry... but you did make typo in the name which could have tragically thrown people way off... or maybe a little.

Just finished Freakonomics. Not so sure what all the hype was about. Hopefully going to try and start A Clockwork Orange and Blink if I get time.

I just finished Flowers For Algernon, and right before that I read A Clockwork Orange. You won't be disapointted NaOT, it's a wonderful book (If a bit hard to read for the first few chapters).

A lighter, but funny book on the English language I found at the Library is Armed Gunmen, True Facts, and Other Ridiculous Nonsense by Richard Kallan

Some of the funny things from it:

Deliberate Lie- More forthright than the inadvertent lie
Crazy Lunatic- Not a candidate for group therapy
Stupid Idiot- Often found in the company of the moronic jerk and the idiotic moron
Deadly Killer- A killer who's serious
Terrible Tragedy- A tragedy that's no laughing matter
Unsolved Problem- More problematic than a solved problem
General Public- A public worthy of salute
Original Founder-Forerunner to the second founder
Personal Friend- A friend you actually know
Jewish Rabbi- More authentic than a Catholic rabbi
Inocent Bystander- A bystander inexperienced in the ways of the world
Surviving Widow- The last one standing in an all-widow game of Russian roulette
Unknown Stranger- A stranger without a nametag
Approximately Around- Doubly unsure
Clap with Both Hands- But not with all three
Repeat Again- An encore presentation
Weave In and Out- A unique way of weaving
Circle Around- When circling square won't do
Perfect Utopia- Better than a run-down Utopia
Past History- History that's already happened
Easter Sunday- Holier, and more convienient, than an Easter Wednesday
Close Proximity- Nearer than distant proximity
Each and Every- When you want to cover all your bases, twice
Today's Soup du Jour- Fresher than yesterday's soup du jour
Necessary Prerequisite- When manatory compliance isn't optional
Fortunate Luck- More fortunitous than planned luck

pretty much the whole book is full of these things and I thought they were hilarious

I plan on rereading Black Beauty (screw you, that book was awesome when I read it years ago) and No Relation. Ever heard of it? Yeah, neither had I.

You know those really old-looking books stores leave around to make something look more sophisticated? Well, I recently decided to start looking at them. Turns out most of them are just Readers Digest collections, but you find an occasional novel. I found one a while ago in a furniture store that looked really cool, but promptly forgot the name. Last weekend, I was in some store and I found the works of Voltaire, but some of the pages were bound together at the bottom. Very weird. But, there was No Relation, a book by E. Menot or Monot (I can't remember exactly).

So, I've decided to read it since I haven't read a novel in a while.

I finished the book The 5 people you meet in heaven.

Good book, i liked it a lot, it's a page-turner. I just think it was too short, i wanted to get more in the novel.

I also read On the street where you live by Mary Higgins Clark.

Very confusing book, but i got through it. It's a good mystery/suspense book.

It was also #1 New York Times bestseller.
